She recorded iconic figures of the downtown NY art scene\u00a0including Andy Warhol, Madonna, Keith Haring, John Sex, Joey Arias,\u00a0Grace Jones, Anne Magnuson among others, both on and off-stage. Her\u00a0video art installations have been shown in Barney\u2019s windows as well as\u00a0at many NYC clubs and galleries. \u00a0Her video \u201cDowntown NY 1984\u201d was\u00a0exhibited in the &#8220;DownTown Show: the Downtown Art Scene 1974-1984&#8221; at\u00a0the Grey Art Gallery, the Andy Warhol Museum and the Austin Museum of\u00a0Art. \u00a0Her archival footage from New York in the 1980\u2019s was used for\u00a0B-roll in the documentary \u201cArias With a Twist,\u201d which premiered at the\u00a0Berlin and the Tribecca Film Festivals in 2010. Harmel was a web video\u00a0producer for web 1,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/pseudo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">pseudo.com<\/a>\u00a0and Russell Simmon\u2019s site\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/360hiphop.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">360hiphop.com<\/a>. She also trained journalists at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/360hiphop.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">360hiphop.com<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0digital video production for the web. \u00a0Currently Harmel is a\u00a0contractor for NYU\u2019s TV and Media Center.<\/p>\n<p>Video\/Web Internship Available<\/p>\n<p>Harmel is looking for an intern who is enthusiastic, energetic and can\u00a0take initiative.<\/p>\n<p>Tasks include digitizing and cataloging archival videos of the\u00a0downtown New York art, performance, fashion and music scene in the\u00a01980\u2019s-1990\u2019s and scanning and cataloging archival documents related\u00a0to the events in the videos. Candidate should have experience in video\u00a0production, including on-location production and video editing and\u00a0familiarity with Final Cut Pro 7 and Adobe Production Suite. Ideally\u00a0the candidate will have experience working with cameras, audio and\u00a0lighting and may possibly assist on shoots. \u00a0HTML\/CSS skills are a\u00a0plus for developing a web site of archival and current materials.<\/p>\n<p>Benefits of the internship are mentoring by a seasoned professional\u00a0with over 30 years of experience. Shared knowledge and expertise for\u00a0video production, newmedia\/multimedia, documentary and experimental\u00a0films, video art installations and preparing video content for cable\u00a0TV and the Internet.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Internship is for 2 days a week for 8-10 hours per week.
