Revson Foundation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Social Media\/Digital Publicity Internship<\/p>\n<p>POSITION SUMMARY<\/p>\n<p>The Charles H. Revson Foundation operates grant programs in Education, Urban Affairs,\u00a0Jewish Life, and Biomedical Research. One of the Foundation\u2019s signature projects, now in its\u00a0second year, is the NYC Neighborhood Library Awards. The awards program engages residents\u00a0throughout the five boroughs to nominate their local public library branches, and five winning\u00a0libraries receive $10,000 each in recognition of their contributions to their communities.<\/p>\n<p>We received over 4,000 electronic and paper nominations from New Yorkers last year, and\u00a0anticipate the program\u2019s reach to expand in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The 2014 NYC Neighborhood Library Awards will have a strong focus on digital outreach,\u00a0including social media, blogs and multimedia publicity content. The Social Media\/Digital\u00a0Publicity intern will play a key role in developing an online engagement strategy, in\u00a0collaboration with various media outlets and foundation partners.<\/p>\n<p>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assess existing online presence to improve digital publicity strategy<\/li>\n<li>Develop content for Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms<\/li>\n<li>Keep track of press mentions and write blog posts for the website<\/li>\n<li>Create and distribute multimedia content for an online audience<\/li>\n<li>Grow online community and generate publicity by connecting with relevant blogs,\u00a0websites, groups, and public figures<\/li>\n<li>Manage online paid advertising<\/li>\n<li>Maintain cohesive online presence by tracking social media activity and website traffic<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with web and communications teams at our partner organizations<\/li>\n<li>Assist with special projects and daily tasks as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking a tech-savvy individual with a passion for community engagement and strong\u00a0grasp of New York City\u2019s cultural, political, and philanthropic landscape.<\/p>\n<p>Education<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Undergraduate and graduate students or recent graduates; Communications,\u00a0marketing, journalism, or other related majors strongly preferred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Professional Experience<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with developing digital campaigns and executing strategic online\u00a0communications<\/li>\n<li>Successful track record of generating online media and publicity<\/li>\n<li>Experience writing for an online audience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Required Technical Skills<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of social media platforms<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of web metrics and familiarity with CMS<\/li>\n<li>Basic computer and web troubleshooting skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other Qualifications<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team<\/li>\n<li>Must be organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and an eager learner<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is a paid internship with a stipend of $600\/month. The internship runs from January 15-May 15 for 12 hours per week.
