Position in Interactive and Playable Media:<\/p>\n
Sarah Lawrence College announces a tenure track appointment in Interactive and\u00a0Playable Media beginning fall, 2014. Candidates should have a record of teaching\u00a0beginning and intermediate students in individual and group study as part of a liberal\u00a0arts curriculum. Requirements include a strong exhibition record, experience in\u00a0independent and\/or industry game and media development, at least three years of\u00a0college-level teaching, technical competency in a range of software, and knowledge of\u00a0contemporary art practices in new media. We are especially interested in candidates\u00a0who are committed to convergence and to the use of interactive and gaming\u00a0technologies to foster new modes of communication. These might include games,\u00a0media for mobile devices, and other aspects of contemporary arts practices in digital\u00a0and interactive arts.<\/p>\n
In addition to excellence in teaching, our department values collaboration across\u00a0disciplinary boundaries outside of the arts, and the pursuit of activities that involve the\u00a0wider community, further arts and technology education, and raise the visibility of the\u00a0program.<\/p>\n
