The Department of Art &amp; Art History offers BA degrees in Art<br \/>\nEducation and Studio Art, a BA and MA in Art History &amp; Visual Culture, and BFA and MFA degrees in<br \/>\nDigital Media Art, Photography, Pictorial Art, and Spatial Art to approximately 450 undergraduates and<br \/>\n80 graduate students. This is a high-energy and interdisciplinary department best known for its focus on<br \/>\nteaching and for its outstanding fabrication facilities. The candidate will be associated with the Digital<br \/>\nMedia Art program, which has hosted the CADRE institute for more than 20 years, publishes SWITCH<br \/>\n(an online magazine), and has close connections to ZERO1 as well as to the campus-wide Learning and<br \/>\nGames Initiative. The ideal candidate will be interested in making connections among and across these<br \/>\nand related innovative areas in the College and on the campus.<br \/>\nQualifications:<br \/>\n\u25cf Master of Fine Arts or Ph.D. in a pertinent discipline<br \/>\n\u25cf Minimum of two years teaching experience at the university level<br \/>\n\u25cf A portfolio of creative work that incorporates digital and network technologies focusing on web<br \/>\ndevelopment and data visualization<br \/>\n\u25cf Demonstrated artistic achievement as evidenced by a record of national or international<br \/>\nexhibitions, and\/or publications<br \/>\n\u25cf Demonstrated experience in imagining, organizing, and effecting transdisciplinary projects such<br \/>\nas would connect a university and its liberal arts students to the contemporary world of work<br \/>\n\u25cf Awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population, such<br \/>\nas might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching, and other comparable<br \/>\nexperiences<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities:<br \/>\n\u25cf Teach and develop graduate and undergraduate courses in web development and data<br \/>\nvisualization using HTML 5, CSS, and JavaScript, in addition to iOS and Android application<br \/>\ndevelopment.
