At PM Digital, the role of Information Architect\/User Experience Designer involves more than organizing\u00a0information, it\u2019s also about taking a creative approach to developing exceptional web-based and mobile interfaces\u00a0that are intuitive and highly-usable.<\/p>\n
The Senior IA\/UX Designer plays a key role in the project discovery process communicating with clients to\u00a0understand their business goals and help define strategy, content, and features for design of their website. In\u00a0addition, reporting directly to the SVP Creative Strategy, this role is instrumental in growing the IA\/UX team,\u00a0assisting in budgeting and forecasting and direct interfacing with the creative, strategy, project management,\u00a0technology and account teams.<\/p>\n
Primary Job Functions<\/p>\n
\u2022 Interpreting requirement documentation to derive exceptional user interfaces that balance the execution\u00a0of an innovative experience strategy with core business objectives and technical platform considerations<\/p>\n
\u2022 Defining user-interface design, navigation, structure, and hierarchy to serve as a blueprint for all web\u00a0experiences including mobile and responsive<\/p>\n
\u2022 Creating wireframes, sitemaps, work-flows, content inventories, specification documents, user scenarios\u00a0and prototypes, along with thorough documentation and annotations of UI control behavior<\/p>\n
\u2022 Analyzing target audiences, user behaviors, metrics, and functional specifications to execute user-friendly,\u00a0goal-oriented solutions<\/p>\n
\u2022 Interfacing with designers, programmers, and project managers to assure the completion of jobs to meet\u00a0project specifications<\/p>\n
\u2022 Working with clients to understand their business models and goals, presenting deliverables to clients,\u00a0and describing the intended user experience via communication and documentation<\/p>\n
\u2022 Writing labels for navigational elements and calls-to-action for user interfaces<\/p>\n
\u2022 Tracking research regarding web design, usability, and technology trends<\/p>\n
\u2022 Managing the IA team, including inhouse staff and contractors, leading and growing the team and their\u00a0capabilities<\/p>\n
Education and Experience Requirements<\/p>\n
\u2022 BA or BS in either Graphic\/Visual Arts, Library and Information Science, Computer Science, Human\u00a0Computer Interaction, Information Sciences, Marketing, Industrial Design, Fine Arts, or a related area<\/p>\n
\u2022 4+ years of relevant experience working on large, complex websites<\/p>\n
\u2022 Experience developing, extending and applying detailed user interface specifications, UI pattern libraries,\u00a0reusable GUI components, content inventories, and design guidelines for websites and\/or mobile\u00a0experiences<\/p>\n
\u2022 Experience observing or conducting user research and translating results into UX decisions<\/p>\n
\u2022 Experience working directly with clients, communicating objectives and presenting deliverables<\/p>\n
\u2022 Experience developing wireframes, sitemaps, and user-flows, augmented with clear annotations of UI\u00a0control behavior, to clients and team members<\/p>\n
Professional and Personal Skills<\/p>\n
\u2022 Strong knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology<\/p>\n
\u2022 Working knowledge of user-centered design principles and practices<\/p>\n
\u2022 Working knowledge of website design methodology and web development technology trends<\/p>\n
\u2022 Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills<\/p>\n
\u2022 Excellent attention to detail, organization, and timeliness of solution delivery<\/p>\n
\u2022 Comfortable in a fast-pace environment handling multiple projects simultaneously<\/p>\n
\u2022 Proficient in architecture-related software such as Axure and Visio. (Knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop,\u00a0SQL Server, MS Office, Acrobat, or Dreamweaver a plus)<\/p>\n
\u2022 Superb analytical and problem-solving skills<\/p>\n
