Campus Description:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0Stony Brook University, home to many highly ranked graduate research programs, is located 60 miles from New York City on Long Island’s scenic North Shore. Our 1,100-acre campus is home to 24,000 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students and more than 13,500 faculty and staff. The University is a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities and co-manager of nearby Brookhaven National Laboratory, a multidisciplinary research laboratory supporting world class scientific programs utilizing state-of-the-art facilities. Stony Brook Medicine is Suffolk County’s only academic medical center and tertiary care provider. Required Qualifications:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>Ph.D. in hand or equivalent experience. Research and teaching that critically engage and employ digital technologies. Portfolio of digital humanities projects that blend theoretical and critical perspectives with use of digital tools.<\/span><\/p>\n

Responsibilities & Requirements:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>Stony Brook University (SBU), the leading research campus of The State University of New York (SUNY), invites applications for a tenure track assistant or associate professor in the Digital Humanities, to be appointed in an appropriate academic department. We seek applicants able to contribute to Stony Brook’s thriving interdisciplinary environment, whose research and teaching exemplify how contemporary scholars and teachers can critically engage and employ digital technologies. Competitive candidates should have a portfolio of digital humanities projects that blend theoretical and critical perspectives with use of such digital tools and methods as text mining and analysis, data visua<\/span>l<\/span>ization, and digital culture analysis<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>Special attention will be given to candidates with experience in research and teaching collaborations in the humanities and in developing grants and funded projects.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Assistant or Associate Professor<\/span>\u00a0will be responsible for undergraduate and graduate teaching, standard non\u00adteaching duties.<\/span><\/p>\n

Special Notes:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>This is a tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
