We’re excited to announce that we’re now accepting submissions for RESNA’s 2014 Student Design Competition.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Registration is now open on the\u00a0Student Design Competition<\/a>\u00a0website. By registering, student teams are indicating their intent to submit\u00a0their project by\u00a0April 17,2014<\/b>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We want to make sure that every student with a great idea and a desire to improve the lives of people with disabilities knows about this annual competition, and are asking for your help. Please\u00a0click here<\/a>\u00a0for more information\u00a0on the competition and this year’s\u00a0competition flyer<\/a>. We would appreciate your help in getting the word out about this year’s competition.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

All entries are posted and promoted on the Student Design Competition website. Semi-finalists receive an all-expense paid trip for two to RESNA’s annual conference and a free\u00a0membership<\/a>\u00a0to RESNA. One design\u00a0is awarded\u00a0the\u00a0“Technology Most Likely to Become Commercially Available,”<\/a>\u00a0which includes a cash prize and an internship at the Center for the Translation of Rehabilitation Engineering Advances and Technology (TREAT) to further develop the design for market.<\/p>\n

We’re grateful to TREAT for their continuing support of the competition. Our 2012 TREAT award winner, Seong-Hee Yoon from the University of North Carolina, had a fantastic experience developing her design, the “Braille-Bot,” at the TREAT facilities in Lebanon, NH.
