The Managing Editor=92s role will be to<br \/>\ntake Change.org=92s content strategy to the next level &#8212; significantly<br \/>\nexpanding our team of bloggers, defining the site=92s editorial voice,<br \/>\nand building Change.org into the leading destination online for<br \/>\nissue-based news, commentary, and action. <\/p>\n<p>We are looking for someone who has experience in new media, thrives in<br \/>\na fast-paced environment, and is passionate about using the web to both<br \/>\ninform and inspire people to take action. Salary is competitive and<br \/>\ncommensurate with experience, and our entire team is spread across the<br \/>\ncountry (primarily in SF, NYC and DC), so telecommuting is an option.<\/p>\n<p>The Managing Editor will:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\tEstablish and maintain site-wide content strategy and editorial tone;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Manage a growing team of more than 20 bloggers, maintaining<br \/>\nregular communication and editorial oversight and providing advice on<br \/>\neverything from headlines to writing topics (little copy editing is<br \/>\nrequired =96 all bloggers publish content immediately without going<br \/>\nthrough an editorial process);<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Recruit and hire additional bloggers to expand existing blogs and<br \/>\nlaunch more than a dozen new blogs in the next year (possible new<br \/>\ncategories include global poverty, racism, the environment, corporate<br \/>\ncorruption, human rights, etc);<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;\tMaintain and expand relationships with advocacy groups, other online medi=<br \/>\na organizations and the press;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Oversee strategy for marketing Change.org=92s blogs through<br \/>\nrelationships with other bloggers and use of social media sites such as<br \/>\nTwitter, Facebook, and Digg;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Help craft overall company strategy with Change.org=92s management<br \/>\nteam and advise special projects like Change.org=92s =93Ideas for Change in<br \/>\nAmerica=94 competition.<\/p>\n<p>        Company Description<\/p>\n<p>Change.org<br \/>\nis an online media network covering the most important issues facing<br \/>\nthe world and empowering people to make a difference.
