Art in Your Space,\u00a0\u00a0an innovative 6-week program for at-risk high school students\u00a0is interviewing now for a co-teacher.<\/p>\n
Art in Your Space will introduce a group of up to 15 City-As-School students to 21st century work environments while they learn valuable STEAM skills such as design, prototyping, applied electronics, and fabrication. \u00a0A teaching artist from Eyebeam, a co-teacher, and mentors will support the student in creating an interactive art installation in a business incubation space.<\/p>\n
The potential end product might be a wall design, an extension of a piece of furniture, or integrated into the existing workspace architecture. \u00a0\u00a0During this process, students will have the opportunity to not only interact with teaching artists to develop a product, but also gain exposure to various members of the incubation space to learn about careers in entrepreneurship and technology.<\/p>\n
There will be an art-opening \/ unveiling to culminate this project!<\/p>\n
This is a paid position. \u00a0Classes\u00a0will be held from\u00a01-4 PM\u00a0on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting\u00a0May 1\u00a0ending\u00a0June 12th\u00a0at City As School, a co-working space, other office spaces, and Eyebeam.<\/p>\n
This will be the first time running this program.\u00a0 Therefore passion, creativity, and dedication to helping teens at risk of dropping out improve their career trajectories and learn about technology and art is a must.<\/p>\n
We are looking for a maker with fabrication, physical computing, and design experience.<\/p>\n
