Job Description: MCG is seeking an experienced Graphic Designer to develop and\u00a0maintain a visual style for a variety of print and digital projects. Projects will include\u00a0research reports, articles, and presentations about families, education, interactive\u00a0media and play around the world. Researchers and editors at MCG will collaborate with\u00a0the graphic designer to turn complex information into simple, beautiful stories.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities: interpret copy and conceptualize overall design, organize and capture\u00a0visual assets such as original illustrations and stock photography, execute design,\u00a0oversee and implement revisions, and deliver final materials on schedule.<\/p>\n
This is a project-based freelance position ideal for an independent professional with a\u00a0flexible schedule. Work may be completed remotely or on-site at our office in SoHo. Fee\u00a0negotiable, competitive rate.<\/p>\n
Desired Skills and Experience:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Degree in Graphic Design, Information Design, Visual Design, Fine Arts, Computer\u00a0Graphics or a related area<\/p>\n
\u2022 Expertise in standard presentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Apple Keynote, Prezi) and\u00a0Adobe Creative Suite<\/p>\n
\u2022 Strong layout and typography skills<\/p>\n
\u2022 Experience with digital photo editing and online stock photography<\/p>\n
\u2022 Ability to communicate effectively and cooperate with the project team throughout\u00a0all stages of design and production<\/p>\n
\u2022 Ability to work independently, quickly and reliably while meeting hard deadlines<\/p>\n
\u2022 Interest in research, information visualization, and education content a plus<\/p>\n
