The MWDD manages all information technology services,\u00a0activities and performance of technology tools for the Hemispheric Institute.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf Manages the Institute&#8217;s website, including its content, overall architecture and\u00a0functionality. Maintains and updates content management system (JOOMLA!), and\u00a0implements the migration of content into updated JOOMLA! site. Creates and\u00a0updates project pages and materials for courses, events, photo and video galleries,\u00a0and publications in accordance with current templates and style sheets. \u00a0Collaborates with Institute staff and members on information and service needs.\u00a0Implements design and page content to ensure achievement of creative objectives\u00a0and consistency in style and tone. Makes recommendations for graphics, color\u00a0schemes, and content display layout that are consistent with design. Develops\u00a0project plans and schedules for site changes. Monitors usage and generates and analyzes site analytics. Troubleshoots problems, proposes and implements\u00a0solutions. Administrates site registration and security as well as access and\u00a0permissions for all protected materials. Ensures site documentation is developed,\u00a0organized, and current. Handles all web master correspondence. 50%<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf Supervises all work performed by student employees and interns on website and\u00a0related platforms and technologies. Conducts all technology training for Institute\u00a0staff, student employees, interns, associate faculty and other partners. Creates and\u00a0conducts workshops on JOOMLA!, WordPress, basic web design and styling, video\u00a0editing and compressing for the web, database construction, archiving\u00a0technologies, and new models for web-based research. Prepares written materials\u00a0and instructional guides; ensures training is consistent with established\u00a0standards and technologies. 20%<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf Researches and develops new site components, pages, and functions in accordance\u00a0to the Institute\u2019s evolving teaching, communications and archival needs. Maintains\u00a0current knowledge of emerging technologies. Researches and recommends use of\u00a0advanced web technologies to promote creative objectives. 15%<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf Develops and implements a consistent design and visual concept across web and\u00a0print publications, promotional materials and event publicity. 10%<\/p>\n<p>\u25cf Manages all communications and projects with NYU Information and Technology\u00a0Services (ITS). Works with ITS Humanities Computing and e-Services departments\u00a0to develop and implement server maintenance as well as site recovery and backup\u00a0plans.
