DIS Magazine is a digital media platform. It\u2019s on and offline projects examine art, fashion, music, and culture, constructing and supporting new creative practices. Working collaboratively with artists, writers, photographers, musicians, and designers, DIS Magazine facilitates projects for the most public and democratic of all forums \u2013 the Internet.<\/p>\n
In the past, we\u2019ve worked with developers and designers on projects like DISimages (http:\/\/disimages.com<\/a>) and DIScrit 89plus (http:\/\/dismagazine.com\/ We are currently looking for an intern developer capable of implementing front end changes, developing new features, and working creatively on custom stories. We\u2019re built on WordPress, but often need work done on custom projects.<\/p>\n You will need:<\/p>\n Experience with managing and designing content for a WordPress backend.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Experience with existing and emerging web technologies including HTML5 and responsive web design.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Front end UX and backend coding.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Experience with CSS including CSS3 as well as CSS preprocessors (SASS, LESS)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Proficiency with PHP and server-side coding.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Ability to write well-structured Javascript and leverage Javascript frameworks when appropriate.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Skill with Adobe Creative Suite to create static mock-ups for internal review.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Ability to design high quality user experiences<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n <\/p>\n Visual design skills and an eye for design are important.<\/p>\n \n This is a paid internship, 2-3 days\/week, $15\/h.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n\n
