Sesame Workshop’s (the home of Sesame Street) Content Innovation Lab +\u00a0the Joan Ganz Cooney Center are looking for people with coding\/prototyping\u00a0skills to help work on a (super awesomely cool) project that focuses on\u00a0in-person joint-media engagement and play\/game experiences. The timeline is\u00a0fairly aggressive. You will work closely with a team of experts in\u00a0children’s media at the company that invented educational television for\u00a0kids! Android development experience is a major plus. A description of the\u00a0two labs…The Content Innovation Lab capitalizes on emerging technology to\u00a0build new kinds of educational experiences for kids. Generally, we look\u00a0three to five years out and try to anticipate the technology or platforms\u00a0that will impact preschoolers. Then, we create content for these platforms,\u00a0so that when the tech is widely adopted, we\u2019re ready with concept, design,\u00a0and experience. The lab also works across other departments as interactive\u00a0designers and advocates for using emerging technology and for trying new\u00a0things. Some of the tech we experimented with include augmented reality,\u00a0intelligent manipulatives, multiple screens, voice recognition, text\u00a0recognition, gestural control, tablets, and immersive content experiences\u00a0optimized for preschoolers. The Joan Ganz Cooney Center is an independent\u00a0research and innovation lab @ Sesame Workshop that focuses on the\u00a0challenges of educating children in a rapidly changing media landscape. We\u00a0conduct original research on emerging education technologies and\u00a0collaborate with educators and media producers to put this research into\u00a0action.<\/p>\n
The Center also aims to inform the national conversation on\u00a0media and education by working with policymakers and investors. Our core\u00a0initiatives are: games and learning, literacy, and learning together.<\/p>\n
