\n> During July and August, the beautiful Berkshire Hills will once
\n> again be home to The Berkshire Fringe Internship Program. Because
\n> our organization is small, our interns are an integral part of
\n> making The Berkshire Fringe happen. They work hands-on with all
\n> staff members, including the Artistic Directors and Technical
\n> Director.

\n> Berkshire Fringe interns are intensely involved at the highest
\n> level behind the scenes and work directly with the professional
\n> actors, musicians, directors, technicians, designers,
\n> administrators and other diverse theater professionals at the
\n> festival.

\n> Performance and Technical Theater concentrations give our interns
\n> experience in the areas they are most interested in. Performers
\n> participate in professionally directed staged readings of brand new
\n> plays in the EarlyStages program, and will mentor with one of the
\n> Artistic Directors. Technical interns work side-by-side with our
\n> tech staff all summer.

\n> Application Deadline: Rolling. Please submit your application as

\n> Program Runs July 25th – August 18th in 2009.
\n> The Berkshire Fringe is July 29th – August 17th, 2009.
\n> Additional opportunities are available for interested applicants in
\n> the month leading up to the festival.

\n> Technical Theater Concentration
\n>
\n> Technical Theater Interns specifically have the chance to work
\n> intimately with the Technical Director and Production Manager.
\n> There are many learning opportunities, including:
\n>
\n> Assistant stage managing
\n> Creating a flexible and creative festival lighting plot
\n> Successfully managing production change-overs in a fast-paced
\n> festival environment
\n>
\n> Performance Concentration
\n> Performance Interns specifically have the opportunity to work with
\n> a professional director and participate in the EarlyStages readings
\n> presented at The Berkshire Fringe. They will:
\n>
\n> Work one-on-one with the EarlyStages director in individual
\n> coaching sessions
\n> Perform in at least one and up to three professional staged\/concert
\n> readings
\n> Participate in the Community Workshop Series lead by artists
\n> participating in The Berkshire Fringe
\n>
\n> Mentorships
\n> All interns are assigned a mentor. Technical Theater interns mentor
\n> with the Technical Director. Performance Interns mentor with an
\n> Artistic Director. Each intern will have individual meetings with
\n> their mentor and will work directly with them on a number of
\n> projects. The meetings and individualized working environment give
\n> the interns the opportunity to learn one-on-one, ask important
\n> questions, manage exciting responsibilities, be involved in the
\n> inner workings of the organization, and be an integral part of the
\n> artistic community.
