Interdisciplinary technologies and expressions such as performance, immersion, programming, interactivity, the Internet, digital video and multimedia based cultural practices will be considered.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><b>Credits:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\">3 credits. What color is this, really? Create an audio sketch book (two week project).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00b7<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\">Record all the activities in your potential interactive space and begin to design a cognitive framework and list the devices that could be interfaces.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><b>\u00a0<\/b>From a McLuhan perspective create or \u201creplicate\u201d a limited functionally, limited feature,\u00a0\u00a0limited skill image in limited format that feels homogenous with everything else on a social network.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;\">Make a short film using the concept of Fan Fiction.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;\">Using interactive techniques like tracking, \u201cblend\u201d or interact two linear videos or a video with an object.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\">Design a project focusing on mapped video projection with a strict reference to architectural structure.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\">Create a real-time interaction and representation using a range of display scales ranging from cell phone to larger displays.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\">Design an interactive visual system using images, action, sound and a string of commands with the goal to \u201cattend this now\u201d aware that the program, the viewer experience, has to run in the mind of the viewer.<b><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><b>Final Project:<\/b>\u00a0Submit a task analysis and interactive design including defining your problem space: Select and prototype one design from this and do useability tests on the prototype.\u00a0\u00a0The exact nature of the final project will discussed and approved by the professor after submitting the above materials.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><b>Evaluation and Grading of Students:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\">Individual and collaborative projects will be approximately 80% of your grade.\u00a0\u00a0This means everybody in the team receives the same grade based on the success or failure of your visual project. For both individual and team projects I will look for creative solutions, exploration, communication techniques, interactivity, color, space\/depth cuing, and awareness that you are trying to make a work of art.\u00a0\u00a0I will also look for references to all the principles that were covered in my lectures. The remaining approximately 20% will be your individual grade factor.\u00a0\u00a0This will be based on class participation, attendance, critically engaging in the lecture and professionalism. Also class participation means your attention and dedicated use of your time to your group project.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><b>Attendance Policy:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\">More than three absences will severely affect your grade.\u00a0<b>\u00a0<\/b>More than four absences could affect your passing the course.<b><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><b>Late work and presentations:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\">You are responsible for completing all work, assignments, including weekly and the final\u00a0\u00a0project in order to pass the course.\u00a0\u00a0No exceptions.<b><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\"><b>Critiques:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\">Critique will be a systematic analysis of your projects. Your work will be analyzed for structure of thought in the content, the creative process and the visual interactive result. The critiques will be individual or by team.
