This is a Jr. role, they will consider someone with only internship or graduate school experience. Prefer local candidates to Illinois.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Length: 1 year contract with potential hire for those interested in full-time work.<\/p>\n<p>Interview Process: 1 Phone Interview to Hire<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Required Experience:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022Looking for someone who has experience researching Human Factors<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Analysis of Data and being able to determine design, or how it should be configured.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Needs to have excellent communication skills.<\/p>\n<p>\u20221-5 years of experience<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Psychology, Sociology or Anthropology background\/degrees<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Statistics, computer research<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Experience compiling factors for screen usage<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Compile Human Factors<\/p>\n<p>\u2022HCIC \u2013 Courses for Human Factors<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Responsibilities Identify\/define the usability objectives (e.g., content understanding, transaction completion, etc.) &#8211; requires some Human Factors, Usability heuristics knowledge (understanding how users process information).<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Develop comprehensive strategies to measure objectives that are consistent with understanding of best practices in the usability field, and\/or deep knowledge of information processing and cognition Develop metrics to evaluate the success of a project Write the usability test plans \u2013 requires some creative scenario development to elicit user response in the appropriate areas Review other associates&#8217; usability test strategies and test plans Conduct the sessions.<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Requires facilitation skills to encourage users to tell us what they are thinking Give and receive feedback on test plans and facilitation skills Provide frequent feedback, coaching, and insight to others Compile\/analyze the results.<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Requires analytical\/statistical skills to identify true issues Have a deeper understanding of statistics (demonstrate depth in qualitative and quantitative analytical skills).<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Able to interpret more sophisticated studies and issues involving multiple variables or methods of assessment Advise others on analysis and interpretation Develop recommendations and report the findings &#8211; requires communication skills to explain and champion the findings; keeping in mind a portal architecture where our solutions need to work in portlets rather than entire pages.<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Report the findings to the project team Integrate usability findings with business needs and technological constraints to develop the optimal solution for the organization Advocates for data-driven decision, making Responsibility to champion the findings to a larger or higher level audience Proactively interacts with all project team members to identify usability issues Proactively interacts with a variety of clients at various levels in the organization to identify business opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Serve as the Usability Lead on large projects with multiple sub-projects Apply knowledge and learnings across projects and to other business initiatives Advocates for the importance of the user perspective Travel to client sites to facilitate or take part in client usability testing and\/or focus groups Speak knowledgeably with client contacts about our UCD and Usability Process Compile the results and findings into a compelling story (share the story).<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Create client-ready presentations\/documentation of important findings\/results\/stories Understand and apply heuristics Develop heuristics and guiding principles Understand and use the existing User-Centered Design and Usability Process Identify areas for process improvement in our UCD\/Usability Process (e.g., use cases, user mapping, user profiling, usability methods, techniques, templates).<\/li>\n<li>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Serve as subject-matter expert in usability methods (e. g., usability testing, card-sort method, customer experience mapping, satisfaction surveys) Benchmark sites to identify \u201cBest in Breed\u201d design Demonstrate thorough technical knowledge of current research and best practices in the usability field Analyze, interpret, and incorporate additional sources of data (e.g., results of customer satisfaction research, focus groups, and usage data) into recommendations for site design Develop and conduct UCD and Usability training Provide User Experience consulting advice to project and client teams Coach other CDHF and Usability Associates Instill confidence in the CDHF designer by quickly grasping the project, asking the right questions, showing passion\/genuine interest of the user, proactively researching the topic &amp;
