This radio can communicate up to\u00a0150 miles in perfect conditions. Interns will get access to the pre-release hardware and its supporting software, learn about the radio\u2019s features, then build prototyping hardware and software for interacting with it.\u00a0Interns will start by characterizing and investigating the radio\u2019s real-world behavior, then create simple distance measurement examples in one, two and three dimensions, generate creative demonstration projects\u00a0and perform explorations of their own choosing.<\/p>\n<div>The focus of the internship will be on brainstorming applications for this new technology, and building creative demonstrations for each idea. Students should be comfortable with programming and learning the\u00a0math to do spatial calculations as needed. They will work via the company\u2019s R&amp;D division with ITP alumni Rob Faludi, Digi\u2019s Chief Innovator. Investigations can be performed independently with regular check-ins to share progress. Projects and code will be published open-source.
