The Designer Intern will translate client business requirements, user needs, and\u00a0technical capabilities into applications that are visually exciting, easy to use,\u00a0and emotionally engaging. He or she will need to clearly communicate these\u00a0concepts to clients and client service teams. Well qualified candidates will have\u00a0a background in design with knowledge of web user interface design, front-end\u00a0development, visual design, and a detailed knowledge of current user\u00a0experience trends and information architecture.<\/p>\n

Exercise 1: You are the designer on a new healthcare app project. The app will\u00a0be a one-stop resource to schedule appointments, refill prescriptions, manage\u00a0payments and claims, and monitor personal health and health improvements.\u00a0Design a dashboard for this app. Please provide a wireframe and a hifi version\u00a0of your design as well as an explanation for the design decisions you made.\u00a0Spend no more than 2 hours on this assignment.<\/p>\n
RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
\u2022 Translate business case into sketches, wireframes, and hifi designs\u00a0throughout the lifecycle of the project<\/p>\n
\u2022 Iterate quickly on designs based on daily feedback<\/p>\n
\u2022 Act as a thought partner on the project to contribute expertise and build the\u00a0best user solution<\/p>\n
REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
\u2022 Visual UI development<\/p>\n
\u2022 Received or pursuing a BA\/BS degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic,\u00a0visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, CS, or related field or equivalent practical experience<\/p>\n
\u2022 Experience with rapid iteration and design tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator,\u00a0and onscreen prototyping tools)<\/p>\n
\u2022 UI development for functionality<\/p>\n
\u2022 Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks and libraries is a plus (e.g. AngularJS,\u00a0Ember.js, Backbone.js)<\/p>\n
\u2022 Understanding information architecture and the model-view-controller\u00a0(MVC) design paradigm is a plus<\/p>\n
\u2022 Having mobile experience is a plus<\/p>\n
\u2022 Familiar with HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript<\/p>\n
\u2022 Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills<\/p>\n
\u2022 Ability to work both independently and in various team settings<\/p>\n
\u2022 Ability to work under pressure with a solid sense for setting priorities<\/p>\n
