In addition, more than 20 themed resort hotels, two water parks, and the Downtown Disney Area, a daytime and nighttime entertainment complex, are part of the Walt Disney World Resort.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities<\/b><\/td>\nWe are looking both for talented programmers as well as \u201chands-on\u201d types who enjoy putting together and field testing real-world systems. While we can\u2019t do without folks who excel in a specific area, we also appreciate those whose skill sets encompass a wide variety of practical matters. Knowledge of the Disney Theme Parks is always a plus.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Basic Qualifications<\/b><\/td>\n\n
    \n
  • Qualified applicants will possess a sampling of the skill sets below, but are not expected to cover all topics. Intern teams will be assembled to complement each other\u2019s areas of expertise.\n
      \n
    • Programming – Application development for desktop \/ mobile \/ web services. iOS or Android Development<\/li>\n
    • Linux – Python, shell scripting, and embedded devices like the Raspberry Pi and BeagleBone Black<\/li>\n
    • Physical Computing – Sensors, actuators, Arduino and other low-power devices<\/li>\n
    • Wired and wireless networking \u2013 Routers, switches, fiber optics, PoE, Wifi, Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and Zigbee<\/li>\n
    • Photo or video experience \u2013 SLR and digital cinema cameras, lighting and rigging<\/li>\n
    • Industrial automation \u2013 PLC\u2019s, power distribution, design and assembly of control cabinets<\/li>\n
    • Mechanical engineering \u2013 3D modeling, 3D printing, and hands-on assembly and fabrication in varied materials<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Preferred Qualifications<\/b><\/td>\n\n

  • A strong passion for learning and a desire to help others<\/li>\n
  • Self-starter with ability to take initiative and balance multiple priorities with minimal direction<\/li>\n
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills<\/li>\n
  • Willingness to learn new skills and technologies. We look less for knowledge of a specific technology than we do someone who can learn new things quickly.<\/li>\n
  • Prior experience\/knowledge of Disneyland or the Walt Disney World Resort<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Required Education<\/b><\/td>\n\n

  • Junior, Senior\u00a0or Graduate student in a related field, such as Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Physical Computing, Art and Design, Interaction Design, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
