Studio brings\u00a0professional artists into schools and community organizations to lead classes in drawing, printmaking, painting,\u00a0and sculpting, and works with teachers to link art with other academic subjects. Partnering with administrators,\u00a0artists, supporters, and members of the New York City Board of Education, Studio dedicates itself to providing\u00a0students with a full and meaningful visual arts experience. Each year, Studio offers a variety of programs to\u00a0more than 150 New York City schools, taught by nearly 90 professional artists who devote over 45,000 hours\u00a0to more than 30,000 Pre-K through high school students. Approximately 90% of all children who participate in\u00a0Studio programs come from low-income homes. Studio\u2019s Residency Program provides residencies ranging\u00a0from 6 weeks to one academic year, with a primary focus on 2nd through 8th grade.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Overview<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Digital Resource and Project Manager will be responsible for realizing the art, education, and\u00a0technology goals of a four-year federal AEMDD (Arts in Education Model Development and\u00a0Dissemination) grant, focusing on four elementary school classrooms in four New York City Title I\u00a0public schools. The Manager will develop and refine innovative ways to use technology to improve\u00a0student learning and teacher practice, and support the dissemination of these methods within the arts\u00a0and education field. The Manager will also work with the Project Director to implement all aspects of\u00a0the project.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Reports to: Project Director (Studio in a School Director of Programs)<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Major responsibilities<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide logistical and technical support to classroom teachers, artist\/instructors, consultants,\u00a0Project Director, and Steering Committee, primarily in the classroom, and also for meetings,\u00a0professional development events, and all other components of the project<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Serve as primary liaison to all members of the project team, including principals, teachers,\u00a0artist\/instructors, Studio staff and students<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Design and oversee the implementation and integration of digital technology in the classroom,\u00a0including the use of Smart Boards and hand-held devices, as well as creating platforms for\u00a0external resource sharing<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Oversee multi-media production, including coordination of consultants (editors, videographers,\u00a0etc.)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Maintain calendar of all project activities and events<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Organize and maintain archive to include student work, curriculum, program documentation\u00a0and project correspondence<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Support data collection and evaluation activities<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Plan for, track and report on achievement of program objectives monthly\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Monitor expenses vs. budget\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Oversee acquisition, maintenance and tracking of all equipment and technical supplies<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Other projects and tasks as assigned by Project Director<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Education:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Masters degree in a relevant field strongly preferred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Experience and personal qualities:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in the field<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Expertise in interactive educational content and digital platforms for use by students,\u00a0educators, and the field at large<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Technical knowledge about and skills in multi-media production\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Experience with visual arts education and current educational issues, especially in Title I public\u00a0schools<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Understanding of the NYC public school system \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Experience managing federal research grants or other large-scale projects<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Excellent interpersonal and communications skills<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Takes initiative, organized, attention to detail and high standards of excellence<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Deep interest in Studio\u2019s rich history and the field of art education<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Compensation<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Commensurate with experience<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Competitive benefits and vacation package<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>To apply<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Email resume and cover letter to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:jobs@studioinaschool.org\" target=\"_blank\">jobs@studioinaschool.org<\/a>.
