Walt Disney Imagineering is the master planning, creative development, design, engineering, production, project management, and research and development arm of The Walt Disney Company. Its talented corps of Imagineers is responsible for the creation – from concept initiation through installation – of all Disney Resorts, theme parks and attractions, real estate developments, regional entertainment venues, and new media projects. Imagineering is headquartered in Glendale, California, with affiliated offices and facilities in North Hollywood, California and Celebration, Florida; as well as satellite branches at every Disney Theme Park location around the world.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Show Electronic Engineering department team members perform Electronic Engineering activities related to attractions show and park\/resort wide electronic systems.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Responsibilities<\/td>\n\n
    \n
  • Develop designs that provide seamless show presentation<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Work under the guidance of a more senior department member on specific assignments such as:<\/span><\/span>\n
      \n
    • Define Control System Requirements<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Develop Specifications and Test Plans<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Produce Electronic designs as required<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Support Mock-ups and proof or concepts as needed<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Support field installation<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Provide Training and post opening support to resort<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Basic Qualifications<\/td>\n\n

  • Understanding of electronic principles<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Understanding of mechanical concepts<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Software systems<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Knowledge of computer, power, and communications theory<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Schematic and assembly drawing reading<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • System Integration<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Engineering Analysis & Simulation<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Troubleshooting<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Prototype Design<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Detailed Electronic Design<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Theatrical Concepts<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

  • Ability to present technical concepts in a manner understandable by non-technical people is highly desired<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Demonstrated hands-on project experience covering multiple qualifications listed above<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Fabrication with rapid prototyping tools<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Wireless & wired networking expertise<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  • Robotics experience<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Required Education<\/td>\n\n

  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher, or graduated within 6 months of the start date of this internship, in an accredited college\/university, earning a degree majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Entertainment Technology, Interactive & Theatrical Arts, or related field<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
