Design and Fabrication Intern:<\/b><\/div>\n

Caselden Studios\u00a0is a new creative studio based out of Brooklyn, NY. We create sound design for spaces, interactive art installations, and new, innovative approaches to music-making & sound generation. The studio\u2019s founder, MJ Caselden,\u00a0a creative technologist and sound artist.<\/p>\n

Caselden Studios is looking for an intern with fabrication skills to contribute to hands-on design, fabrication, touring and installation of artwork, and general organizational tasks within the studio. We\u2019re looking for someone that wants to learn on the fly, develop new skill-sets from project to project, and wear many hats. This is a part-time position with flexible hours.<\/p>\n

Required skills:<\/b><\/p>\n

Background in 3D modeling, laser-cutting, and fabrication<\/p>\n

Basic familiarity with shop tools: drill press, chop saw, etc.<\/p>\n

Ability to source materials, pick up packages, and keep the studio clean and organized<\/p>\n

Interest in researching and analyzing new approaches to designs, and proposing ideas<\/p>\n

Appreciation for design aesthetics<\/p>\n

Preferred skills:<\/b><\/p>\n

Understanding of (or interest in) electronics, interactive art, Arduino<\/p>\n

Understanding of (or interest in) acoustics, instrument design<\/p>\n

Opportunities to learn new skills on the job, conduct research, and contribute to designs for new projects.<\/p>\n

Individuals involved in touring and installation will have exposure to design and technology conferences, as well as gallery and museum opening.<\/p>\n

Pay\u00a0scale will vary depending on applicant\u2019s experience.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
