\nIf so, we have a unique and exciting opportunity to use all of your creative and analytical skills.\u00a0 Prudential is looking for a high-energy Data Visualization Design expert to help build out a new Data Analytics capability. The role requires a rare combination of deep and sophisticated expertise in data visualization; strong knowledge of statistical modeling; business acumen; strategic mindset; and a passion for building new capabilities.\u00a0<\/span>
\n\u00a0<\/span>
\nResponsibilities for this position include developing advanced data visualizations in the form of interactive graphics, dashboards, infographics, and other cutting-edge techniques, in addition to traditional media. The ideal candidate will have experience both in front-end visualization libraries, such as d3.js, as well as data visualization tools, such as Tableau. This position is located in Newark, N.J. — a quick, easy 15-minute train ride from New York Penn Station and World Trade Center, or a short drive (with free parking!) from northern and central New Jersey locations.<\/span>

\nResponsibilities:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Develop interactive graphics and dashboards, as well as visually appealing static data representations<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Turn abstract data and insights into easily comprehensible visuals for business consumption ; enhance analytics through compelling information visualizations that help uncover new patterns and insights<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Visualize raw outputs during the formulation, implementation, testing, and validation of predictive models, working with direction and guidance from data scientists<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Demonstrate responsiveness and attention to detail, both in design and in project planning and execution<\/span>
\nRequirements:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Bachelor\u2019s or Advanced (masters or Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a02+ years of experience in visual information design and interactive visualization development with expertise in representing complex information in an actionable and high-impact way, including experience with geographical analysis, what if analysis, , profiling, and optimization<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Familiarity with \/ working knowledge of data mining and statistics, with some prior experience using statistical programming packages, such as R, Python, SAS, SPSS, etc. desired<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a02+ years experience in front-end data visualization libraries, such as d3.js, and other data visualization tools, including SQL, R Graphics, HTML, CSS, and Java<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a02+ years experience design and development experience using Tableau or a similar data visualization\/business intelligence tool.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Prior experience with interactive graphics development, e.g., HTML5\/Canvas, WebGL, OpenGL, Direct3D<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Understanding of database principles, processes, technologies, and tools in DB2, Oracle, Sybase, or TeraData environments<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Strong understanding of color theory, visual perception, typography, and pattern recognition<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Candidates should be prepared to present a portfolio of work (academic and\/or professional) as part of the interview process<\/span><\/p>\n
