We\u2019re looking for a UX\/UI Designer and Developer, who will spend 12-18 months in a leadership<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
position on a government-wide UX design and implementation project.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
In partnership with The Lab\u2019s leadership team and permanent and rotating staff, the UX\/UI<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Designer will work with OPM leadership and internal development teams on a human-centered<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The ideal candidate would bring significant UI\/UX design and front-end development<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
expertise to this position and a desire to collaborate with emerging federal practitioners of human-<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
centered design in order to improve people\u2019s experience when interacting with the Federal<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n

Detailed Position Description<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u2022 Lead the design and implementation of UX products from a human-centered design<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
perspective. This includes:<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
o Empathy-based qualitative user testing to understand their needs,<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
o Synthesis of user testing data to understand behavior with the product and how it<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
relates to the overall design project goals,<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
o Lead structured and unstructured ideation sessions using a variety of human-<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
centered design tools to foster the divergent thinking that leads to breakthrough<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
ideas,<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
o Lead creation of low, medium, and high fidelity prototype development including<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
the ability to develop hand drawn storyboards, thumbnail sketches, wireframes<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
and mockups, and<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
o Develop high fidelity prototypes using CSS, HTML and JavaScript (an<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
understanding of .Net desired, but not required),<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
o Coordinate between the design team and development team to ensure all work<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u2022 Lead and work on a multi-disciplinary team made of designers, policy experts, and<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
developers under very tight timelines and be responsible for driving collaborative and<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
positive team dynamics.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u2022 Past experience working on collaborative, fast-paced website builds is required, and<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
experience as a technical project\/product manager will set you apart.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u2022 Directly facilitate problem-solving sessions, human-centered design immersion projects,<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
design sprints, and other meetings and sessions as needed.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u2022 Support agencies in applying and testing prototypes in their home environment, providing<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
ongoing coaching, facilitation and resources as needed.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u2022 Performs other duties as assigned.<\/div>\n
