This position will troubleshoot,evaluate,<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; implement, test, and maintain desktop and user support<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; applications; manage data warehouse and inventory management<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; systems; investigate customer needs; provide annual and regularly<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; scheduled system reports; respond to requests for customized<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; applications; deliver timely information analyses, and provid<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; documentation\/support guidelines for use by students, faculty and<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; staff.  Additionally, the position provides recommendations for<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; new multimedia hardware and software, tests new technologies, and<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; explores ways to engage students in the use of technolgy for<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; creative projects.<br \/>\n&gt;&gt;<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Instructional Technology,<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; Digital Media\/Art, Computer Science, or related degree and two<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; years related experience (additional years of directly related<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; experience may be substituted for some education). Familiarity<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; with Apple OSX, Microsoft Systems Management tools, Linux System<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; Administration. Basic knowledge of common multimedia software such<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; as Adobe\/Macromedia products, video and audio equipment, digital<br \/>\n&gt;&gt; photography and printing. The unofficial description of the position is as follows:<br \/>\n&gt;<br \/>\n&gt; Multimedia Specialist will instruct students in the use of digital<br \/>\n&gt; audio hardware and software, maintain audio studio and circulating<br \/>\n&gt; equipment, inspire students in the creation of music\/audio related<br \/>\n&gt; art.  S\/he will design and conduct workshops, create other teaching<br \/>\n&gt; materials, make purchasing recommendations, and keep up with<br \/>\n&gt; cutting edge multimedia technologies. S\/he will  assist student lab<br \/>\n&gt; monitors by filling in with front desk duty and helping patrons<br \/>\n&gt; with technically challenging projects.  This position is structured<br \/>\n&gt; to support a working artist who maintains an active creative life<br \/>\n&gt; outside of the lab.<br \/>\n&gt;<br \/>\n&gt; The successful candidate will be able to:<br \/>\n&gt; Learn new information independently and be comfortable<br \/>\n&gt; experimenting with new technologies, have strong written and verbal<br \/>\n&gt; communication skills,  be organized and able to work efficiently<br \/>\n&gt; while juggling multiple projects.  Must have superior people skills<br \/>\n&gt; and be able to take the initiative to reach out to students.<br \/>\n&gt;<br \/>\n&gt; Required skills:<br \/>\n&gt; MS, MA or MFA, as well as previous teaching experience, thorough<br \/>\n&gt; knowledge of sound recording and digital audio, knowledge of the<br \/>\n&gt; following hardware and software: Digital Performer, PEAK, Adobe<br \/>\n&gt; Audition. Adobe Creative Suite and Macromedia Tools.  Extensive<br \/>\n&gt; system-level knowledge of both Mac&#8217;s and PCs.
