The group of schools would like to develop a digital platform to facilitate existing STEM projects and encourage new ones, enable knowledge-sharing between and among teachers and students, better prepare students for participation in the collaborative world of scientific investigation, and host collaborative citizen science projects.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Functionality needs for the platform include:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 Project pages: lesson plans, documents, photos\/videos, blogging, commenting<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 Data collection<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 Data visualization<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 Resource library: projects, ideas, links, opportunities, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 Communication<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 Groups, forums, hangouts<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2022 User\/login functionality<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Instead of a completely custom design (and in order to keep costs down for the schools), the platform will need to use (as much as possible) existing off-the-shelf tools that can be customized\/integrated, such as an open source learning management system and\/or Google forms\/sheets\/etc.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We are looking for a web developer\/programmer to work with us to design and build this platform. It\u2019s a great opportunity for anyone interested in STEM and\/or education in general.
