We are actively seeking talented Interaction Designers\/UX Architects to join our efforts to create world<\/p>\n
class products for the JP Morgan Markets platform and its various digital properties. J.P. Morgan<\/p>\n
Markets (JPMM) is the firm\u2019s flagship client-facing global platform that provides critical trade-related<\/p>\n
capabilities ranging from trade research, analytics and structuring to trade execution and post-trade<\/p>\n
activities.<\/p>\n
The successful candidate will join a unique and highly specialized team within JP Morgan\u2019s Corporate<\/p>\n
Investment Bank (CIB) that provides product management capabilities for the platform. Our team of<\/p>\n
User Experience practitioners sits within this product organization and partners with Product Managers<\/p>\n
to craft innovative solutions for business-critical applications.<\/p>\n
This is an exciting opportunity to design applications with a global user-base and where the UX is<\/p>\n
interaction-rich, comprised of many highly specialized workflows, and is built with the latest desktop,<\/p>\n
web, and mobile front-end technologies.<\/p>\n
The ideal candidate is, above all, a maker and enjoys balancing the craft with an academic interest in<\/p>\n
theory and science of Interaction Design, HCI, and user-centered design methodologies.<\/p>\n
The right candidate:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Is excited and motivated to create next-generation user interfaces for a specialist user base<\/p>\n
\u2022 Leverages his\/her design skills to imagine, illustrate, and help realize a compelling functional<\/p>\n
interface<\/p>\n
\u2022 Can defend their interaction design proposals with rationale that is rooted in an understanding<\/p>\n
of the users and the business<\/p>\n
\u2022 Has a strong sense of aesthetics<\/p>\n
\u2022 Is curious, resourceful, and able to learn and operate within complex business domains<\/p>\n
\u2022 Has strong communication skills and enjoys working collaboratively<\/p>\n
\u2022 Is detail oriented and always concerned about the resulting effect of their designs<\/p>\n
\u2022 Has some banking experience but more critically, has a record of successful deliveries for<\/p>\n
custom-designed, highly specialized, application user interfaces<\/p>\n
Primary Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
The Interaction Designer \/ UX Architect will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and specifying<\/p>\n
interaction models as well as screen and component-level details including data, forms, visualizations,<\/p>\n
navigation, and nuanced behaviors. Just as important is the IxD\u2019s ability to understand the target users,<\/p>\n
their contexts of use, key business and technical contexts and then synthesize all findings into innovative<\/p>\n
designs that solve both user and business problems. Additional responsibilities include:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Taking an active role in product ideation<\/p>\n
\u2022 Seeking out deep insights into user needs and behaviors<\/p>\n
\u2022 Working closely with multi-discipline teams to create, evolve, and enforce interaction design<\/p>\n
standards<\/p>\n
\u2022 Creating robust and exacting interaction design specifications including concept models, user<\/p>\n
scenarios\/stories, wireframes, interaction\/state diagrams, interaction pattern specifications.<\/p>\n
Preferred Work Experience:<\/p>\n
Ideal candidates will have a minimum 3 years experience working in a professional capacity as an<\/p>\n
Interaction Designer or Information Architect on highly interactive and data rich applications where they<\/p>\n
(1) were responsible for solving business and user problems with design and (2) designed and<\/p>\n
documented the interactivity (flow, states, transitions, and other functional behaviors).<\/p>\n
They will also have experience with the following:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Participating and at times steering the design process for highly functional business application<\/p>\n
\u2022 Using UX methods to influence the overall product strategy<\/p>\n
\u2022 Employing innovation-fuelling generative user research, and evaluative user testing<\/p>\n
\u2022 Candidates do not necessarily need banking experience but must have a track record of<\/p>\n
successful deliveries with a strong portfolio that highlights how your ideas have influenced the<\/p>\n
end-state of a complex business application.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Experience designing for dynamic front-end technologies such as: Flex, WPF, HTML5\/CSS or the<\/p>\n
like.<\/p>\n
*** During the interview process, candidates will be expected to participate in an exercise intended to<\/p>\n
demonstrate their approach to interaction design problems.<\/p>\n
Educational Experience<\/p>\n
\u2022 Bachelor’s Degree in design with emphasis in one of the following (or equivalent) fields:<\/p>\n
Interaction\/Digital Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, Architecture,<\/p>\n
Communication Design<\/p>\n
\u2022 Master\u2019s degree in a related field is a plus.<\/p>\n
