Habib University is a global institution of higher education located in Karachi, Pakistan. It is an undergraduate liberal arts and sciences institution that welcomed its first class of students in Fall 2014. Its liberal arts and sciences framework offers its students the breadth and depth of knowledge in the humanities, social sciences and the natural sciences through a rigorous Core Curriculum, coupled with intensive knowledge in the disciplines, a host of technical skills and vital soft skills; qualities that are highly expected of graduates trained for the global workplace.<\/div>\n

The Communication Studies and Design program at Habib University embodies a rich mix of theory and practice to produce imaginative leaders and practitioners in the field of communication. It combines a transdisciplinary approach to learning with specialized training in media and communication studies, graphic design, and filmmaking. It ties in with the overall vision of the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Habib University \u2013 to set a new international standard for interdisciplinary liberal arts education.<\/div>\n

The program is inviting applications for faculty positions from candidates with expertise in the fields of Communication Studies, Visual\/Communication Design, Film Studies and New Media, Journalism and Media Studies, Ethics and Public Culture, Comparative Literature, Rhetoric <\/b>and English. <\/b>Appointment is expected to begin August 1, 2016<\/span><\/span>.<\/div>\n

Successful candidates will bear the following profile:<\/div>\n

– Terminal degree in relevant discipline – Excellent teaching and scholarly credentials<\/p>\n

– Passion for undergraduate education – Intellectual curiosity<\/p>\n

– Ability to work well in teams in an interdisciplinary environment<\/div>\n

Applications from female candidates are highly encouraged to maintain gender equity within the School. Experience of having studied and\/or worked in a U.S. style, liberal arts environment would be highly preferred.<\/div>\n
