\nEducational Technology and Interactive Technology Fellowships<\/p>\n

\nSummary<\/p>\n

The NYU Shanghai Educational Technology Fellowship (ETF) is a 10-month
\nprofessional development opportunity for recent graduates.<\/p>\n

The ETF is intended for high-achieving graduates from a variety of
\ndisciplines with an interest in the intersection of teaching, learning
\nand technology.<\/p>\n

The ETF offers an opportunity to design, implement and evaluate
\ninnovative educational technology projects under close mentorship by
\nexperienced staff and faculty.<\/p>\n

The fellowship may be renewed for up to an additional 10 months, at
\nthe discretion of NYU Shanghai.<\/p>\n

Who is the ideal Educational Technology Fellow?<\/p>\n

ETFs have demonstrated advanced proficiency in one or more relevant
\ntechnologies, plus an enthusiasm for helping faculty and students use
\ntechnology effectively, and the ability to learn and apply new
\ntechnologies quickly.<\/p>\n

ETFs are able to discuss complex technology concepts both with
\ntechnology experts and novices.<\/p>\n

ETFs have a dedication to working with faculty and students, and
\npossess superior cross-cultural communication and collaboration
\nskills.<\/p>\n

ETFs are self-starting and self-motivated.<\/p>\n

What do Educational Technology Fellows do?<\/p>\n

ETFs apply their technology and communication skills to design,
\nimplement, evaluate, document and support technology-enhanced
\neducation projects.<\/p>\n

ETFs work on those projects in partnership with faculty, instructional
\ndesigners, technology specialists, administrative staff, and
\nstudents.<\/p>\n

Specific functional areas include, but are not limited to, course
\ncontent creation, video and audio production, interactive animation,
\nmapping and GIS, video and audio conferencing, script writing, online
\nteaching, student engagement, and web development.<\/p>\n

Implement faculty course designs using specified platforms and tools.<\/p>\n

Support course activity and student engagement over the course of the
\nproject arc from concept through delivery.<\/p>\n

Assist faculty in translating an existing classroom course for online
\ndelivery, or develop a new course in an online format.<\/p>\n

Assist in new online course development, or in the use of a new
\nclassroom technology.<\/p>\n

Develop technology enhancements (such as video modules or student
\nengagement opportunities) for an existing course.<\/p>\n

Required Skills:
\nRequired Qualifications<\/p>\n

Fellows must be eligible for an appropriate visa and employment in
\naccordance with Chinese law. However, eligibility is NOT required
\nbefore submitting an application for a fellowship.<\/p>\n

Required Education<\/p>\n

Undergraduate or graduate degree in Instructional or Educational
\nTechnology, Digital Media or a related field.<\/p>\n

Required Skills, Experience and Abilities<\/p>\n

An exceptional and robust technical skill set, such as developing and
\ndeploying production code (Javascript, Python, etc.), advanced
\nHTML\/CSS development, video production tools, animation and graphic
\ndesign, interactive web or media development, and support of LMS
\nplatforms.<\/p>\n

A creative, patient and flexible approach to problem-solving and
\ncollaborative work with faculty, students and administrators.<\/p>\n

An ability to provide effective information technology support and
\ntraining to individuals with novice technology knowledge and\/or
\ntechnology anxiety.<\/p>\n
