This is a full-time position starting this spring. Salary commensurate with experience.<\/p>\n<p>The Development Director will be responsible for the following tasks:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Engaging in research to identify new individual, foundation, and government prospects;<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining and expanding the funding database;<\/li>\n<li>Evaluating marketing options;<\/li>\n<li>Developing, coordinating and implementing a high donor program;<\/li>\n<li>Helping to develop, coordinate, maintain and implement the annual fundraising plan;<\/li>\n<li>Writing fundraising letters and appeals; maintaining regular correspondence with foundations, donors, prospective donors, and board members; overseeing correspondence (on-line as well as traditional);<\/li>\n<li>Helping to plan events and executing events;<\/li>\n<li>In consultation with program staff and the Director, preparing drafts of grant proposals.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Additional Qualifications: \u00a0The ideal applicant will have the following qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least 4 years of nonprofit fundraising\/development experience, preferably with significant foundation and high donor fundraising experience.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills; excellent oral communication and ability to participate in public speaking events.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written communication, research, and organizational skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to develop and manage budgets and prepare financial reports.<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy, with experience with fundraising databases preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Interest, enthusiasm, and affinity for fundraising and working with people.<\/li>\n<li>The successful applicant will work well in multicultural teams and with diverse constituencies. They will be self-motivated, work well under pressure and be able to handle several projects at one time. The Associate will join organizers Morten S\u00f8ndergaard, Jamie Allen and Roddy Schrock. They will be advised by the Steering Committee, which comprises George Lewis, Barbara London and Douglas Kahn.<\/p>\n<p>Urban space is a sonic infrastructure, encompassing elevator music, mobile phones, car stereos, public emergency broadcast and retail audio systems. This sound is never \u201coff,\u201d and speakers are speaking everywhere. Acoustic Infrastructure seeks to take sound art outside of museums and gallery spaces, embedding it into P.A. systems in public and private spaces, the authority of \u2018public address\u2019 takes centre stage, just as it loses its (high) fidelity. A broad program (including a symposium and publications) will draw together practitioners in online art, public sound sculpture, and social urbanism, architecture and infrastructure studies.<\/p>\n<p>Internships<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>We look for Studio and Administrative internships on an ongoing basis. Due to the high volume of submissions, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eyebeam provides internship opportunities as part of the educational component of our mission. Interns play a vital role in our community, and we invite you to explore the opportunities available. Interns must be able to work a <strong>minimum of two full days per week, seven hours a day.\u00a0<\/strong>Educational credit, a MetroCard, and a small stipend are available. In the past,\u00a0interns have always developed connections to artists, technologists and designers of interest to them.<\/p>\n<div><strong>Administrative Intern<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>The intern will support the Program Manager with administrative tasks. A good candidate will be detail-oriented and capable of self-management. They should be able to use office software, word processing, spreadsheet analysis and database management.<\/div>\n<div>Responsibilities and tasks include:<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>project management for public and nonpublic events<\/li>\n<li>data entry and analysis<\/li>\n<li>mailings and errands<\/li>\n<li>assembling artist dossiers<\/li>\n<li>support in donor outreach.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Digital Fabrication Internship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Digital Fabrication Intern will work directly with the Creative Tech Manager to maintain and operate various digital fabrication machines at Eyebeam.\u00a0 Additional, this person will help to organize and schedule equipment use for all creative residents.<\/p>\n<p>Favorable qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eagerness to learn<\/li>\n<li>Highly organized<\/li>\n<li>Self direct<\/li>\n<li>Problem solver<\/li>\n<li>Working experience with various digital fabrication technologies (laser cutter, 3D printers, CNC)<\/li>\n<li>Experience with woodworking (safety practices, hand tools, power tools, joinery methods)<\/li>\n<li>Experience with audio and video equipment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Communications\/Media Intern<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Eyebeam seeks one Communications\/Media Intern for the winter. <\/strong>The intern will work closely with the Communications Manager.<\/p>\n<p>Tasks may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the maintenance and expansion of Eyebeam&#8217;s relationship to the press<\/li>\n<li>social media to connect to our audiences<\/li>\n<li>cultivation of our alum and supporter lists through emails<\/li>\n<li>creating content (recorded interviews and blogposts) about Eyebeam&#8217;s incredible roster of current residents and alums.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Qualifications include some but not necessarily all of the following:<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>an ability to write for multiple lengths, contexts and audiences<\/li>\n<li>experience with administration and an office environment<\/li>\n<li>fluency with social media<\/li>\n<li>conversant with design and media editing skills<\/li>\n<li>curious about Eyebeam&#8217;s storied history<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>Internships are unpaid. We will work with educational institutions to provide academic credit for your work. Interns are required to commit two (7 hour) days a week. Dates should span from November &#8211; February, but are negotiable for the right candidate.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><strong>Studio Internship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Studio Interns will work directly with Eyebeam\u2019s Residents and Fellows, whose needs range based on their field of work.
