User Experience Designer and Researcher Internship<\/b><\/p>\n
The NYU Office of Global Services (OGS) is looking for an energetic and creative graduate student to fill an open UX Designer and Researcher Internship position. This position is a key member of the OGS Communications team, working on projects and issues related to user experience design and research.<\/p>\n
The time commitment is 20 hours per week.. Hours worked would need to be within regular office hours (Monday<\/span><\/span> \u2013 Friday<\/span><\/span> from 9:00 a.m. \u2013 5:00 p.m.<\/span><\/span>). Availability to work during university breaks is preferred. Salary is $18\/hour. You must be a full-time student at NYU to be considered for this position.<\/p>\n Responsibilities:<\/p>\n Project Management<\/p>\n Manage user testing and user experience initiatives from start to finish<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Conduct meetings with project stakeholders to understand goals, requirements, user profiles, and context of use<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Delegate UX project tasks to other members of team and staff<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Follow through on implementation, including tasks for user testing, design implementation and optimization<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n User Research and Testing<\/p>\n Perform qualitative user research to understand user needs and evaluate design solutions for usability<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Coordinate and run usability testing sessions – recruiting participants, setting up testing stations, observation room, ordering supplies, communicating with staff, etc.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Analyze and synthesize findings, writing concise reports to share with team members<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Create highlight videos\/screenshots and archive documentation for future use.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n User Experience Design<\/p>\n Create interaction design deliverables such as process flows, wireframes, annotations and prototypes for web, big screen displays, kiosk and other interfaces.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Implement designs through CMS, front end development, Adobe CS6 and other software<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Analyze content and information architecture to improve navigation structure<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Access existing data and find ways to share them with appropriate audiences in more delightful and informative ways<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n Secondary role – Assist Communications team if needed with overflow of web and design requests including CMS web updates, handout updates, and emails.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Our dream intern has a combination of these qualities:<\/p>\n Curious about and passionate for the user, someone who knows the importance of user experience design<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Outgoing, with a great sense of humor and positive attitude<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Rapid adopter of new technologies and tools<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Experience with desktop and web publishing applications such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Experience with html, css, javascript<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Comfortable receiving tasks and feedback<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Actively takes initiative on independent and team projects<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Effective at articulating ideas and communicating needs<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Reliable–you come to work when your calendar says you will<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n To apply send a cover letter, resume, and samples of your work to Melissa Zuroff, Communications Manager at melissa.zuroff@nyu.edu<\/a>.
