My company SayCel is hiring a research assistant to document and develop applications for 2 communications and emergency networks I installed in Nicaragua. I started this project while studying at ITP. We are hiring in the next week or so, and chosen candidate must be able to attend a communications conference in Mexico Feb 27 – March 3<\/span><\/span>.<\/div>\n

Summary<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

SayCel in cooperation with RiskEcon Lab and the NYU Courant Institute will explore new use cases to promote the economic and social benefit of low cost communications and emergency networks in rural communities.<\/p>\n

SayCel is a Social Startup that works directly with local governments in underdeveloped regions and currently has two test installations in Nicaragua.<\/p>\n

SayCel is currently looking for a Research Assistant to document the open source communication project used to serve networks in Nicaragua. Development of new applications for communications system will follow after completion of documentation. Applicant must be able to attend Communications conference from Feb 27-March 3, 2016<\/span><\/span> in Mexico.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Work minimum 15 hours a week.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Document installation of Open Source Communications Project.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Maintain regular communication with manager.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Complete weekly progress reports.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Maintain Github with current updates of the Open Source Communication Project.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Complete weekly progress reports.<\/p>\n

Requirements<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Thorough knowledge of Linux, and comfortable using Command Line.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Ability to attend Rhizomatica Conference in Oaxaca, Mexico from February 27-March 3, 2016<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Strong background in computer science.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Ability to troubleshoot command line installation procedures.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Understanding of network and security protocols.<\/p>\n
