OPSR provides leadership and<\/p>\n<p>implementation support for the DOE\u2019s college and career articulation initiatives and Career and Technical<\/p>\n<p>Education (CTE) programs. As part of the Division of Teaching and Learning (DT&amp;amp;L), OPSR develops and<\/p>\n<p>implements strategy and policy for increasing capacity across DOE schools in ways that will significantly<\/p>\n<p>increase the number of students who graduate college and career ready and persist through their<\/p>\n<p>postsecondary choices. As part of this work, the NYCDOE has led the creation of several programs and pilots<\/p>\n<p>to expand computer science education, particularly for students traditionally underrepresented in the<\/p>\n<p>technology sector (Black and Latino, and female students).<\/p>\n<p>As cited in New York City\u2019s OneNYC Plan, the City is committed to expanding access to educational<\/p>\n<p>opportunities in computer science and related disciplines. Computer Science for All (CS4All) is a component of<\/p>\n<p>the Chancellor and Mayor\u2019s Equity and Excellence plan for driving educational achievement city-wide.<\/p>\n<p>Through an unprecedented public-private partnership, by 2025, all NYC public school students will receive<\/p>\n<p>meaningful, high\u2010quality Computer Science (CS) education at each school level: elementary, middle, and high<\/p>\n<p>school. Over the next 10 years, the DOE will train nearly 5,000 teachers who will bring CS education to the<\/p>\n<p>City\u2019s ~1.1 million public school students.\u00a0The project is expected to develop, strengthen and document<\/p>\n<p>practices that can be scaled up to a broader array of schools toward the goal of significantly increasing the<\/p>\n<p>number of NYC students studying computer science and graduating college and career ready.<\/p>\n<p>A team of multiple Computer Science Education Managers, under the supervision of the Director of<\/p>\n<p>Implementation for Computer Science Education, will serve as integrated members of the Borough Field<\/p>\n<p>Support Centers. Each Manager is responsible for leading the implementation of borough-specific computer<\/p>\n<p>science programs, pilots, and initiatives with the overarching objective of ensuring equitable access to high-<\/p>\n<p>quality computer science education for all students, particularly those who are underrepresented in technology-<\/p>\n<p>related career fields and higher education programs. Successful managers will quickly develop capacity in<\/p>\n<p>schools, successfully cultivate and manage relationships with partner institutions, businesses, educators, and<\/p>\n<p>NYC\u2019s diverse network of CS education nonprofit organizations. Each manager will collaborate with other<\/p>\n<p>members of the OPSR Team, other DT&amp;amp;L teams, School Principals and staff, employer partners, CUNY and<\/p>\n<p>other higher education partners. Performs related work.<\/p>\n<p>Reports to: Senior Director for Policy and Implementation, Office of Postsecondary Readiness.<\/p>\n<p>Key Relationships: Works closely with Office of Postsecondary Readiness leadership, Borough Field Support<\/p>\n<p>Center leadership, CIPL, DIIT, industry partners, principals, and teachers.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 In alignment with Borough Field Support Center and Superintendent support for schools, manages the<\/p>\n<p>implementation of training and technical assistance to schools on various computer science topic areas<\/p>\n<p>and the operational integration of computer science into academic subject areas.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Manages the decision-making strategy related to developing school program plans, operations plans, and<\/p>\n<p>establishing capacity-building structures to support implementation in computer science programs.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Oversee budget allocation for borough-based professional development trainings.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Manages relationships with other computer science education partner organizations in assigned borough.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Manages the documentation and dissemination of best practices, and support the collection of data to<\/p>\n<p>ensure equitable implementation of CS teaching across all demographics in assigned borough.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Implements plans for research and policy analysis on components of program design and impact, in<\/p>\n<p>coordination with OPSR\u2019s research team and external evaluators, including processes for collecting data<\/p>\n<p>from program sites, documenting program implementation and best practices, and supporting the<\/p>\n<p>preparation of reports to capture program outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Work closely with BFSC Instructional Leads to provide guidance on citywide implementation requirements,<\/p>\n<p>and ensure alignment with CS4All policies and practices.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Conducts, facilitates, and manages presentations to a wide audience of stakeholders and DOE leadership<\/p>\n<p>program design, policy and impact, and makes recommendations for changes that affect current policies.<\/p>\n<p>1. A master\u2019s degree from an accredited college in a field related to the position and three (3) years of full-<\/p>\n<p>time progressively responsible professional experience in education administration in one or more<\/p>\n<p>education-related areas, at least eighteen (18) months of which must have been in a managerial capacity;<\/p>\n<p>2. Graduation from an accredited college with a baccalaureate degree and four (4) years of full-time<\/p>\n<p>progressively responsible professional experience, as described in \u201c1\u201d; or<\/p>\n<p>3.
