The internet is a societal nervous system\u2014a growing global network of awareness and intelligence that we must put to good use. Writing software designed to protect the environment and improve education requires software skills, analytical experience, business sophistication, and a genuine commitment to ethics and social responsibility. Incorporated in 2000, Green River has a team of 15 software engineers, two project managers, and a user experience designer. We are looking for a creative visual designer with front-end coding skills. Our clients include Starbucks, US Green Building Council, NBCUniversal, B Lab, and many others. We are located in scenic southern Vermont, with a satellite office in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as well as remote staff around the country.<\/div>\n
\nOur projects offer intriguing design challenges: communicating stories based on complex data and creating beautiful, intuitive interfaces that foster insight and sometimes even delight. WE\u2019RE LOOKING FOR A TEAM MEMBER WHO WILL:<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
Collaborate with clients and developers to design effective software
\nDesign beautiful, scalable, accessible visual systems for use in responsive web applications
\nDesign complex data information visualizations
\nDevelop front-end code in CSS and JavaScript
\nCommunicate effectively with clients and developers
\nReview implementation of visual and interaction design
\nStay engaged with design trends and technologies
\nShare ideas for improving how we do things at Green River<\/div>\n

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE\u2019RE LOOKING FOR:<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
3 – 5+ years experience with web application design in a professional setting
\nSolid understanding of user interface design to maximize usability on desktop and mobile devices
\nExperience producing semantic and responsive design, HTML, JavaScript and CSS
\nExperience working with developers to ensure seamless integration of front- and back-end functionality
\nExcellent written and oral communication skills
\nAbility to manage time effectively and meet deadlines<\/div>\n
