Flux Factory is a collectively-run artist space with long-running residency and exhibition programs.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">AR will be on view\u00a0<span class=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_158501413\"><span class=\"\">August 19th through September 11th<\/span><\/span>. The open call is below; submissions guidelines are\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fluxfactory.org\/projects\/artificial-retirement-open-call\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>. Deadline for submissions is\u00a0<span class=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_158501414\"><span class=\"\">June 26th<\/span><\/span>, though if applicants were to need more time, they should contact the curators.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Artificial Retirement Open Call<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Artificial Retirement invites artists, researchers, and educators motivated by failure, imperfection, and destructive progression to create artworks, workshops, and performances. We are looking for creative practitioners who find beauty in encountered errors. The aim of this project is not only to celebrate present modern technology, but also to challenge and investigate human behavior towards technology. If we can create well-functioning technology, we also have the freedom to malfunction it.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The keywords for this exhibition are\u00a0error, malfunction, imperfection, destruction.\u00a0Participants may examine what we discard and eliminate without thoughtful process when we use technology \/ redefine the concepts of \u2018successful\u2019 and \u2018failed\u2019 \/ find new meanings for our daily functioning technology, etc. We are looking forward to meeting your meaningfully malfunctioning poetic digital gadgets.<\/p>\n<p>Participants who wish to show and run their visual arts, time-based arts, and workshops are all welcome to apply.\u00a0 Work must involve digital or mechanical materials in process, practically and\/or conceptually.
