The Ross School, East Hampton, NY<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The Ross School is seeking new faculty to implement the Ross Media Studies<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
K-12 curriculum for the 2016\u20132017 school year. This is a sterling opportunity for<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
individuals conversant in media studies and production to inspire young<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
learners and instill advanced media skills through project-based learning.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The largest boarding\/day school in New York, the Ross School is one of the only<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
K-12 institutions featuring media studies in its core curriculum. The Media<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Studies program synthesizes critical analysis, media history, audiovisual<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
production, and programming.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
At the lower school level (K-6), students develop transmedia projects while<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
studying an array of creative work \u2013 ranging from filmmakers Charlie Chaplin<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
and Stan Brakhage to cartoonist Ed Emberley to designers Ray and Charles<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Eames to emergent breakthroughs in data visualization. Students additionally<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
explore how media influence broad social and political movements while<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
affecting our emotions, our psychology, and our environment.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in either media history, digital<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
citizenship, graphic design, or coding. Candidates able to teach from an<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
integrated perspective encompassing English, cultural history, and science are<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
especially encouraged to apply.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Candidates must hold a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Media Studies, Communication,<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Rhetoric, Design, History (or related discipline), and a minimum 2 years\u2019<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
teaching experience.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
