Media and Events Internship<\/p>\n
SculptureCenter is a not-for-profit arts institution dedicated to experimental and innovative<\/p>\n
developments in contemporary sculpture. We are currently accepting applicants for internships<\/p>\n
for Fall\u00a02016.<\/p>\n
Internships are unpaid but school credit may be earned. We regularly host international interns<\/p>\n
with strong language skills. Scheduling is flexible with an expected commitment of two days<\/p>\n
per week for 3 months. Working with a small staff in an open office environment, you will gain<\/p>\n
valuable insight and hands on experience working for a non-profit art museum. Interns take on<\/p>\n
projects that have a direct and visible outcome in our exhibitions, public programs, and<\/p>\n
events. You will also come away with important professional skills for working in the field of<\/p>\n
contemporary art. All interns enjoy complementary NewArtNetwork memberships after their<\/p>\n
internship.<\/p>\n
The Media Intern works directly with the Associate Director and Operations Manager to<\/p>\n
generate content for SculptureCenter’s online media presence. Primary responsibilities will be<\/p>\n
producing video and web content. This includes filming and editing interviews with artists and<\/p>\n
visitors, documenting public programs and events, and updating social media as needed.<\/p>\n
Candidates should be enthusiastic, self-directed, and interested in initiating media projects.<\/p>\n
Experience behind a camera and editing video with Adobe Premiere required.<\/p>\n
Qualified applicants will have professional written and oral communication, excellent<\/p>\n
organization, and online research skills as well as basic familiarity with creative software, such<\/p>\n
as Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. All internships will include special dedicated events<\/p>\n
and NewArtNetwork membership programming, attending gallery tours, artists\u2019 studios, and<\/p>\n
special collections. Interns should have a strong knowledge of and enthusiasm for<\/p>\n
contemporary art, enjoying visiting galleries and museums in their free time. Prior museum or<\/p>\n
gallery experience preferred.<\/p>\n
