Bennington College is a residential liberal arts college distinguished by its progressive approach to higher education. The College was founded on the principle of active engagement in learning, which is manifest in individualized plans of study developed by students together with faculty. We aim to educate students towards self-fulfillment and constructive social purposes, and we believe that equity, diversity, and inclusivity–in community and in curriculum–are vital to achieving those aims.<\/p>\n

We invite applications for a full-time faculty position in computer science, beginning Fall 2017. Applicants with traditional and non-traditional backgrounds in computer science and from all sub-specializations are encouraged to apply. The ability to teach and develop new courses in multiple sub-fields of computer science that can be integrated into a broad liberal arts environment is highly desirable.<\/p>\n

Bennington\u2019s open curricular structures facilitate teaching in non-traditional manners and across traditional disciplinary boundaries.\u00a0Faculty at Bennington are teacher-practitioners whose professional work is in ongoing dialogue with their teaching and advising.\u00a0An advanced degree in computer science or a closely related field is desirable, but not required.<\/p>\n
