Our<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>program offers an engaging, accessible learning environment; inspiring active learning and building confidence in<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>STEM; and exposing girls to careers and women role models within the STEM sector.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The program will be based in schools or other community buildings throughout New York City. This per diem position<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>leads instruction alongside an assistant instructor, co-teaching weekly 2-hour sessions for 20 sessions during the<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>academic year, beginning fall of 2016.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Coding experience is not required, as both instructors will be trained on the curriculum that combines coding, digital<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>storytelling, and Girl Scouts-style leadership development and complement each other\u2019s skillset. We are looking for<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>instructors who can demonstrate professionalism and consistency, while also relating to, coaching, and inspiring girls<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>as they embrace and undertake building STEM and other new skills. Training,<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>curriculum, and materials will be provided by GSGNY After School Program Manager, department staff, and<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>program development partners.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\uf0b7 Work in tandem with Assistant Instructor on-site to deliver quality coding curriculum to underserved schools and<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>after school programs across New York City.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\uf0b7 Adapt teaching to a wide variety of informal environments.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\uf0b7 Lead field trips, coordinate guest speakers, and oversee events as scheduled per site.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\uf0b7 Support girl recruitment, parent, and community engagement specific to each site, and provide quality customer<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>service to parents and site\/school administration.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\uf0b7 Ensure that accurate attendance is taken every day, while monitoring frequent absences.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\uf0b7 Assume responsibility for and follow protocol to watch students until pickup by designated parent\/caregiver<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>and\/or school staff.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\uf0b7 Support the completion of evaluation and assessment procedures, including but not limited to accurate and<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>timely tracking of program and student data and providing reports as necessary to the Afterschool Program<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Manager.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\uf0b7 Be a positive role model and promote high morale in program participants.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Page 2 of 2<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>QUALIFICATIONS:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\uf0b7 Bachelor&#8217;s degree in education, social work or relevant field.
