Courses include Introduction to New Media,<\/p>\n<p>Multimedia\/Web Design, Web Animation and Interactivity, Internet Video, Game Design, and Web<\/p>\n<p>Development and Design.<\/p>\n<p>Student advisement, participate in curriculum and program development, committee participation, active<\/p>\n<p>involvement in co-curricular media program activities, liaise with internship counselor, and ongoing<\/p>\n<p>professional development are required. Shared responsibilities include department assignments including<\/p>\n<p>administrative, supervisory, and other functions. The Assistant Professor of New Media Technology will work<\/p>\n<p>with other departments in English, business and computer science to develop and improve track specializations<\/p>\n<p>in the major. The specialized tracks include digital journalism, video game development, app development and<\/p>\n<p>e-commerce.<\/p>\n<p>Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise.<\/p>\n<p>The Associate in Applied Science degree in New Media Technology is designed to prepare students to enter<\/p>\n<p>directly into the workplace or to further their educations by transferring to a B.S., B.F.A., or B.S. degree<\/p>\n<p>program. The New Media Technology degree offers students the opportunity to learn skills such as web design,<\/p>\n<p>web animation and interactivity, Internet video, and game design. Other required and elective courses place<\/p>\n<p>those skills in the context of artistic traditions and values, introduce students to the wide range of career<\/p>\n<p>opportunities in which they may apply their skills, and the social and ethical issues raised by new technologies.<\/p>\n<p>LaGuardia Community College, located in Long Island City, Queens, educates more than 50,000 New Yorkers<\/p>\n<p>annually through degree, certificate, and continuing education programs.
