Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Amorphic Robot Works (ARW) is looking for interns to assist the preparation of an art project and the fabrication of large scale inflatable robotic sculptures.<\/p>\n

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are hands on, detail oriented, very focused and able to work independently if needed to start asap through December and possibly into January. ARW is located in Brooklyn (Redhook), NY. About Amorphic Robot Works Amorphic Robot Works (ARW) is a collective of artists, engineers, musicians, and scientists and was founded by Chico MacMurtrie in 1991. Since ARW\u2019s inception, MacMurtrie\/ARW have received critical acclaim for their experimental media installations and support from the Rockefeller Foundation, Andy Warhol Foundation, NYFA, VIDA\/LIFE, Ars Electronica and Guggenheim Fellowship. MacMurtrie\u2019s studio in Brooklyn NY is known as the Robotic Church where an ensemble of 50 robotic sculptures performs to the public on selected dates. This unique site-specific installation and performance series was featured in The New York Times, The Huffington Post, New York Public Radio and other media.<\/p>\n

Production Intern:<\/p>\n

Applicants should posses two or more of the below listed skills to apply.<\/p>\n

Skills\/Experience needed:<\/p>\n

CAD: Solid works, Rhino or Inventor<\/p>\n

Programming Max, Ableton PD and Arduino<\/p>\n

Multi media performance<\/p>\n

Mechanics \/ robotics<\/p>\n

Basic Electronics<\/p>\n

Pneumatic systems<\/p>\n

Fabrication (preferably involving composite fabrics, metal, wood)<\/p>\n

Electrical wiring & understanding of basic circuits<\/p>\n

Sewing with Industrial machines.<\/p>\n

Machining (manual lathe and mill)<\/p>\n

Welding<\/p>\n

The internship is unpaid but can lead to a paid position in the future depending on experience and skills. Lunch will be provided at Amorphic Robot Works. Also could involve\u00a0all expenses paid\u00a0to build and program the border crossers project,\u00a0 the month of January at the Amorphic Ranch in Bisbee, Arizona.<\/p>\n
