The course will be taught on Usdan\u2019s campus in<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">Wheatley Heights, Long Island, NY.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p2\">POSITIONS AVAILABLE:<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">\u2212 Art and Design: Filmmaking, Video Game Design, Lego, Early Childhood Art, Photography,<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">Comic Art, Painting People, Fiber Arts, Narrative Art, Sculpture.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">\u2212 Music: Clarinet, Violin, Piano, Guitar, Guitar\/Ukulele, Low Brass (Trombone, Baritone, Tuba),<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">Bassoon, Early Childhood Music\/ORFF, Alto Saxophone, Elementary age Choral Conductor,<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">Middle and High School age Orchestra Conductor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">\u2212 Dance: Tap, Contemporary Hip Hop.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">\u2212 Recreation: Yoga, Games Hoops and Nets, Quidditch.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">\u2212 Nature.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">\u2212 Creative Writing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p2\">TRAITS AND CHARACTERISTICS:<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">Teachers will be passionate artists and educators with a focus growing and learning. They will seek<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">rigorous exploration of ideas, have a willingness to try new things, and be open to and interested in<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">feedback. They will work enthusiastically with children, with an understanding of their needs both<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">individually and in the modern world. Usdan teachers will be flexible both in and out of the<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">classroom and interested in collaboration with Usdan\u2019s faculty within and across disciplines. They<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">will be authentic, reliable, respectful, thoughtful, and organized.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p2\">ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">\u2212 Work with the Department Chair and\/or with the Administrative staff to set goals for the<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">class and plan the student experience.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">\u2212 Submit course plans prior to the start of camp.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">\u2212 Work with administrative staff to order supplies and materials<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">\u2212 Prepare and organize the setup of the studio.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">\u2212 Teach four hours per day and prepare for each class.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">\u2212 Supervise students at daily assemblies and in passing periods.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">\u2212 Attend department and staff meetings and trainings as required.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">\u2212 Prepare for exhibitions and performances, when relevant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p3\">\u2212 Lead or attend one 1-hour professional development workshop after camp hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p1\">\u00a0\u2212 Have student safety as a top priority at all times.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p1\">\u00a0\u2212 Create a joyful, fun and engaging atmosphere in the studio.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p1\">\u00a0\u2212 Use inquiry, exploration and experimentation as primary teaching tools.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p1\">\u00a0\u2212 Differentiate instruction to be both challenging and developmentally appropriate for each<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p1\">student\u2019s age and ability, which varies within and across classes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p1\">\u00a0\u2212 Teach skills that are both technical and cognitive.
