I thought this would be a great opportunity to expand the community of teaching artists, get to know each others practice better and aim for more sustainability around art &amp; tech education in NYC!<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div><\/div>\n<div>During DDC17, students work alongside artist-educators engaging in hands-on workshops to focus on software, hardware, tools, careers in the field, and social topics around this year\u2019s theme of\u00a0<b>POWER<\/b>.\u00a0The theme for DDC17 responds to Eyebeam\u2019s current residency cohort and its focus examining relationships between power and technology. As new models of computation mix with older forms of governance, the shape of Power is transforming. We will challenge youth to apply creative thinking strategies across a range of tools and topics with the goal to develop critical, empowering and long-lasting relationships with technology and\u00a0<i>their role in it as agents of change<\/i>.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We&#8217;d love to see you this summer and have you inspire the students, if you are interested in submitting a class or workshop idea please fill out the form online here &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/forms\/QXIdJ5BOn7LLstDD3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=https:\/\/goo.gl\/forms\/QXIdJ5BOn7LLstDD3&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1498060485221000&amp;usg=AFQjCNG14uO7RhHmXIAJsCWYFRqxEQYsUw\">https:\/\/goo.gl\/forms\/QXIdJ5BOn<wbr \/>7LLstDD3<\/a><\/div>\n<div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">When: July 3rd through 14th, Monday &#8211; Friday from 10am to 4pm (we are closed on the 4th)<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Where: Eyebeam 34 35th St, 5th Floor, Unit #26, Brooklyn, bet. 2nd &amp; 3rd ave in Industry City<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">What:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We&#8217;re looking to provide a mix of class and workshop experiences; art, software, hardware &amp; critical theory.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We can pay up to $200\/day for a class\/workshop (inclusive of prep). Payment will be delivered at the end of the session and payment rate would be dependent on length of class\/workshop (e.g. an hour long demo would be less).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">We have a separate budget for materials you may need.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Teachers should provide a clear syllabus including additional to the students before their session so students can continue learning about the topics they were introduced to after they leave class. (will provide examples)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">About our pedagogical approach<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Every educational initiative is core to furtherance of Eyebeam\u2019s mission.
