RoboFun | Vision Education & Media provides exciting, hands-on<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
after school programs using emerging technologies for PK-12t h<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
grade youth. We ignite kids\u2019 passion to explore & solve problems<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
as they learn to invent, build, code and troubleshoot. We believe<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
learning should be fun!<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
RoboFun seeks part-time teachers with an interest in tech to<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
guide our students as they grow into innovative critical thinkers.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
As a RoboFun teacher, you will support kids as they design,<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
code, create & troubleshoot LEGO\u00ae robots, video games, web<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
pages and stop motion animations. We encourage you to<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
supplement our comprehensive project-based curriculum with<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
creative activities of your own. You will lead small after school<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
clubs of 12 students or fewer on adventures they will never<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
forget! We also have opportunities to teach on weekends &<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
during the academic day for our strongest instructors.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u25cf Teach 2+ after school classes a week in Nyack, NY<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u25cf Help students develop and code cool projects including<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
robots and video games.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u25cf Master our curriculum and technologies (LEGO\u00ae<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
MindStorms, LEGO\u00ae WeDo, Scratch, SAM Animation)<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
through paid trainings & independent study.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u25cf Maintain regular communication with Managers.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u25cf Supplement our curriculum with your own creative<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
ideas. Requirements<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u25cf BA or BS degree with a background in education<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u25cf Approximately two years of teaching experience either in<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
a traditional school environment or within non-traditional<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
teaching environments like coaching or camp counseling<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u25cf Ability to commit to teaching a minimum of 2 after school<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
clubs a week for a full semester<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u25cf Proven mastery of classroom management techniques<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u25cf Proficiency with computer software, a love of tinkering &<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
a desire to learn new tech<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u25cf Energy and enthusiasm about working with diverse<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
groups of NYC students<\/div>\n
