Avaaz.org is a new global online advocacy
\nnetwork launched in January 2007, bringing people-powered politics to
\ninternational decision-making. In its first two years Avaaz, which
\nmeans =91voice=92 in many languages, has experienced unprecedented growth
\nto 3.5 million members worldwide. We use the latest techniques in
\nonline and offline organizing, lobbying and fundraising to rapidly
\nmobilize large numbers of people and to effectively impact pressing

Email Deliverability Coordinator Job Description<\/b><\/p>\n

Avaaz.or=
\ng
\nis seeking a coordinator to work on improving its global email
\ndeliverability. Avaaz sends about 15million emails per month and
\nensuring that most of them reach recipients' inboxes is vital to our
\nmission. <\/p>\n

Responsibilities include:
Work with the Avaaz campaigns team=
\n and ReturnPath content monitoring tools to spotlight content-related delive=
\nry issuesWork
\nwith the Avaaz tech team to ensure infrastructure, bounce handling and
\nspam complaints are up to the best industry standards for maximum
\nemails deliveryMonitor deliverability stats on a daily basis, and =
\nbe prepared to provide weekly reports to managementBuild relationsh=
\nips with postmasters\/delivery departments in major ISPs, work with them on r=
\nesolving any ISP delivery issues <\/p>\n

The Emails Deliverability Manager will report to the CTO, and work clos=
\nely with the Avaaz Online Director and tech teamRequired qualifica=
\ntions:
Fluent in English Understanding of deliverability=
\n issues and major ISPs' current practices<\/p>\n

Excellent writing and communications skills<\/p><\/div>\n

High
\nlevel of initiative, able to work independently to implement resolution
\nplan with relatively little guidance from a remotely-located manager,
\nbut ability to take direction and quickly adjust plans when necessary<\/p>\n

High level of proficiency and familiarity with online communication too=
\nls, such as social media tools and Google tools<\/p><\/div>\n

Desired quali=
\nfications:<\/p>\n

Familiarity with the Avaaz\/MoveOn\/Obama-style onl=
\nine campaigning model<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Familiarity with deliverability issues facing organizations sendi=
\nng a large volume of emails per month.Experience resolving Yahoo gr=
\neylisting issues Existing relationships with major ISPs<\/p>\n

Location <\/b><\/p>\n

Avaaz is a virtual organization, with most of our work done over
\nemail, telephone, skype and video calling. We have global team retreats
\ntwo times per year. Our staff =96 a small team of less than 25 – are
\ncurrently based in cities all over the world. Team members are free to
\nwork from anywhere in the world, a unique and major advantage for this
\njob. Avaaz covers office costs, either to establish a home office or to
\nrent one, and we support staff to house themselves in large partner
\norganizations of Avaaz (such as Oxfam) when preferred.<\/p>\n

Compensation and Benefits <\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Salary varies with
\nlocation and experience, but is highly competitive with leading
\nnon-governmental organizations. Benefits also range with location, but
\ninclude 4 weeks paid vacation per year. The initial contract is for
\nthree months, with the strong expectation that a successful trial
