\nin Fort Greene, Brooklyn Community Access Television
\n(BCAT) is Brooklyn’s public access cable television
\nprogram. BCAT is a program of BRIC Arts | Media |

BCAT provides low cost media education training in all

\nfacility. The community services and programs provided
\nby BCAT make a key contribution to the mission of BRIC

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations
\nAssistant is part of a team that provides support to
\nBCAT facilities, personnel and community producers.
\nThis position is part of the NABET-CWA collective
\nbargaining unit at BCAT.<\/p>\n
Duties include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n
Office Management: ordering and organizing office and
\nproduction supplies, monitoring physical plant and
\noffice equipment, arranging for cleaning and repairs,
\ndistributing and sending mail.
\nFloater: assist in Public Equipment room, which loans
\ntelevision equipment to community producers, Master
\nControl, the control room for station programming, on
\ntelevision shoots, and in other aspects of station
\noperations.
\nEducation Program Administration: process paperwork
\nfor students enrolled in television production
\nclasses; assist with registration and orientation;
\nmake database entries; help students comply with
\nstation requirements.
\nCommunications: act as the point person to answer
\nqueries from the public regarding BCAT education
\nprograms, internships and programming.
\nThe ideal candidate will possess an associate degree
\nor better in media production; have exceptional
\ninterpersonal skills; be highly organized and detail
\noriented; have at least two years of experience
\nworking with digital video cameras and non-linear
\nediting programs (Avid Xpress Pro preferred); and be
\ncomfortable working in a professional television
\nstudio and control room. The candidate should be
\navailable to work on weekends as needed.<\/p>\n
