Over the past few years, J.P. Morgan Chase has been an active leader in the fin-tech revolution<\/p>\n<p>by instilling strong Product\/UX discipline and onboarding expertise in emerging technologies such as<\/p>\n<p>block chain, data science, machine learning, and cyber-security. Our team, which sits within JP Morgan\u2019s<\/p>\n<p>institutional trading division (serving corporate clients), leverages these approaches and technologies to<\/p>\n<p>develop the tools considered most essential to our clients. Our users are specialists and include high<\/p>\n<p>performance roles like trader, analyst, portfolio manager, ibankers and others closely involved in the<\/p>\n<p>origination, analytics, and execution of trading instruments. These users have complex, fast-paced,<\/p>\n<p>informationally overloaded jobs, within an already complex industry. And so the tools we design must<\/p>\n<p>add value while adding minimal complexity. To do our job well, we utilize creative design-led techniques<\/p>\n<p>to help us break through the industry jargon and bureaucracy and find insights that others can\u2019t. As a<\/p>\n<p>firm, we\u2019re elevating \u2018Design\u2019 not only to solve complex design problems but also as a catalyst for<\/p>\n<p>product and service innovation.<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will join this unique and specialized team that provides product strategy and<\/p>\n<p>delivery capabilities for client-facing applications. Our Product Design team sits within a Product<\/p>\n<p>Management organization and partners with the product owners to ensure that our hand-crafted,<\/p>\n<p>innovative ideas are deployed.<\/p>\n<p>The ideal candidate is, above all, a maker and enjoys balancing craft with an academic interest in<\/p>\n<p>theory and science of Interaction Design, HCI, and user-centered design methodologies. In addition,<\/p>\n<p>candidates should have the following skills and interests:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enjoys designing highly functional user interfaces<\/li>\n<li>Has a deep understanding of interactivity and its impact on human behavior<\/li>\n<li>Has experience conceptualizing, modeling, and designing complex, yet innovative, experiences<\/li>\n<li>Understands the value of homing in on contextual details that help ensure we\u2019re solving for the<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>right problems<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Can defend their designs with rationale rooted in user needs and business goals<\/li>\n<li>Enjoys the multi-disciplinary and collaborative nature of product development<\/li>\n<li>Is detail-oriented and appreciates the value of visual aesthetics across everything we do<\/li>\n<li>Can translate business problems and requirements into compelling UI\u2019s.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Responsibilities<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Guide and influence the Product\/Service development process by leveraging your command of<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>HCI and Design<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Both formally and informally uncover user needs and contexts via primary and secondary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>research techniques and leverage your learnings to come up with the big idea<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create, present, and document proposed solutions from the big ideas to the smallest<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>components which might include interaction models and flows, screen and component states,<\/p>\n<p>data and information hierarchies<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Escort a proposed solution through to deployment and beyond ensuring that the vision becomes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>a reality.<\/p>\n<p>Experience and Qualifications<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Foundation education in graphic, industrial, interaction design or related degree.<\/li>\n<li>Three to five years of experience working as a user experience professional. An advanced degrees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>and professional practice experience may serve as substitute for qualification.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrable experience designing rich interactions for desktop, web, hand-held form factors<\/li>\n<li>Experience designing applications within complex business domains similar to financial services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Track record of successful deliveries and a strong portfolio that highlights their ideas and end-<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>product.<\/p>\n<p>A portfolio with samples of work must be reviewed before an interview will be scheduled.<\/p>\n<p>About JPMorgan Chase &amp; Co.<\/p>\n<p>J.P.
