Strong engagement with and knowledge of typography is essential.<\/div>\n<div>The position, within the Graphic Design area, includes teaching required and elective courses,<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>developing new courses, collaborating on curriculum development, advising students and serv-<\/div>\n<div>ing on campus committees. Teaching load includes delivering five courses per academic year,<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>academic advising, plus mentoring individual senior thesis projects. Faculty should be qualified<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>to teach across the curriculum from first year to final thesis year in the BFA program. Additional-<\/div>\n<div>ly, faculty who are interested to contribute at the graduate-level are also encouraged to apply.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Duties also require continued professional\/artistic achievement on an expanding scale (on track<\/div>\n<div>towards tenure) and service (which encompasses College, School, divisional, and Graphic Design<\/div>\n<div>program governance). The Graphic Design board of study mounts an undergraduate program<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>that approaches graphic design as a vital field of professional art practice that gives shape to cul-<\/div>\n<div>ture through a wide variety of media. The search committee seeks candidates with the potential<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>to build bridges beyond the School of Art+Design to other areas of study in the arts, letters, and<\/div>\n<div>sciences (such as New Media, Creative Writing, Theater).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Successful candidates will provide a broad approach to graphic design and visual communica-<\/div>\n<div>tions with a demonstrated passion for student learning and success, and interest in professional<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>arts training paired with a liberal education.
