Job\/Internship Description:
\nA product management apprenticeship with our team is an opportunity to
\ngrow your expertise in product development and management, design,
\ndigital services, or public policy and help improve the lives of
\nmillions of New Yorkers. We are currently seeking students and recent
\ngraduates with an interest in these disciplines: product management
\nand development, public policy, or social impact.
\n
\nApprenticeships are paid by the hour, part-time or full-time, with a
\nminimum of three days per week. Summer 2018 Apprenticeships will run
\nfrom the beginning of June until the end of August. Projects will
\nfocus on the delivery, on-going success, and continuous improvement of
\ngovernment services.<\/p>\n

If an internship, what specifically will an ITP student learn?:
\n<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Contribute to product strategy and success metrics, including Key
\nPerformance Indicator (KPI) models, monthly analytics, roadmaps, etc.<\/p>\n

Assist with vendor and stakeholder management.<\/p>\n

Assist in sprint management\u2014working across teams to assure sprints
\nare completed on time and to specification.<\/p>\n

Participate in the development and execution quality assurance (QA)
\ntesting of products.<\/p>\n

Assist in defining feature and functionality requirements.
\nParticipate in user research and synthesis.<\/p>\n

Assist in the creation of prototypes, design assets, and project
\ndocumentation.<\/p>\n

Collaborate in the creation of product development and management
\ndocuments, including roadmaps, project briefs, and user stories.<\/p>\n

Required Skills:
\nCommitment to the mission of advancing greater equality and
\nopportunity through human-centered design practices in government.<\/p>\n

Previous experience in product management or development, or managing
\nthe design and development of technology projects.<\/p>\n

Ability to develop metrics and produce reports for products and
\ninitiatives.<\/p>\n

Turning user research insights and data into new product features or
\nenhancements.<\/p>\n

Technical and design fluency and organization to support product
\nvision and development.<\/p>\n

Interest in using plain language to help residents access and interact
\nwith government services.
\n
