Senior Product Engineer at BioLite<\/div>\n
BioLite is looking for an experienced, mechanically-oriented, senior product engineer to<\/div>\n
join us in developing our next generation of clean energy solutions for both outdoor<\/div>\n
recreation and emerging markets. In this position you’ll play a crucial role in developing<\/div>\n
a range of exciting new products with potential for massive global health and<\/div>\n
environmental impacts.<\/div>\n
TITLE: Senior Product Engineer<\/div>\n
HOURS: Full-time<\/div>\n
LOCATION: Brooklyn, New York<\/div>\n
REPORTS TO: Director of Engineering<\/div>\n
COMPENSATION: Salary is competitive with other early-stage companies, including benefits,<\/div>\n

Key Activities<\/div>\n
\u2022 Lead Product Development Programs\u2014Strategize, plan and drive individual product development<\/div>\n
programs to meet milestones and market launch timelines. Mentor interns and entry level engineers.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Product Engineering\u2014Perform mechanical and electro-mechanical design and detailing for a range of<\/div>\n
clean-energy products across cooking, charging and lighting technologies. Collaborate with industrial<\/div>\n
design, EE, R&D, manufacturing and marketing teams.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Design for Manufacturing (DFM)\u2013 Execute and deliver production-ready 3D CAD files and Bills of<\/div>\n
Materials, including components material specifications, tolerances, and finishes. Travel to and liaise<\/div>\n
with prototype vendors and manufacturing partners.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Skiill Building and Facilities\u2014Build and integrate mechanical and prototyping capabilities within the<\/div>\n
company. Procure, maintain, and evolve computer, shop, and lab equipment. Help shape the strategic<\/div>\n
direction of product pipelines, technology and design development.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Technology Development\u2014As part of our broader team, identify and develop technologies that can be<\/div>\n
applied to emerging and outdoor recreation markets in various areas including cooking, energy-access,<\/div>\n
lighting and off-grid living.<\/div>\n

Key Attributes<\/div>\n
\u2022 5-10 years\u2019 experience in high-volume consumer product engineering<\/div>\n
\u2022 Demonstrated ability to develop ideas and concepts into real products<\/div>\n
\u2022 Experience working on multidisciplinary product teams including industrial design and user research<\/div>\n
activities<\/div>\n
\u2022 Skilled in experimentation, testing, analysis and research<\/div>\n
\u2022 Demonstrated experience leading teams and projects<\/div>\n
\u2022 Enthusiasm for new technology, design and innovation<\/div>\n
\u2022 Accountability, sense of humor, proactive nature and work ethic<\/div>\n
\u2022 Self-managing and motivated; experience in a start-up environment a plus<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u2022 Excellent verbal and written communication skills<\/div>\n
\u2022 Experience in electronics, thermal systems, LED lights and power storage a plus<\/div>\n
Technical skills<\/div>\n
\u2022 Advanced 3D CAD skills in either Pro-Engineer, Solidworks, or AutoCAD including curvature-continuous<\/div>\n
surface modeling and multi-part mechanical assemblies<\/div>\n
\u2022 Ability to design parts for high volume manufacturing processes, including tooling, production and assembly<\/div>\n
processes for metal forming and plastics molding<\/div>\n
\u2022 Technical knowledge of a wide range of materials and coatings<\/div>\n
\u2022 Working knowledge of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics<\/div>\n
\u2022 Familiarity with digital electronics, sensors, circuits, and data acquisition<\/div>\n
\u2022 Extensive knowledge of prototyping processes, including rapid prototyping<\/div>\n
\u2022 Hands-on machine shop experience; ability to create through physical fabrication<\/div>\n
